Hello,

Is there a trick to get my air vent to close tightly? I have an 86
951, that is leaks heat from the engine compartment.

Thanks

Brad

what you said makes no sense. how do you know it's heat from the engine
compartment? for that to happen you would have to have a breach in the
firewall somewhere, and I've never seen that happen. There is a very very
very common failure of a 15 cent part that makes the heater run full blast,
but that would certainly not be "leaks heat from engine compartment" -
please describe carefully and completely what your problem is. Being overly
terse when asking for help really doesn't get you the help you need.

Maybe I wasn't clear in my explaination. I engage (turn on) the
recirculation button, which would close off (change the position) a
damper of some sort, thus NOT allowing positive pressure to flow from
the front of the car (ENGINE), while traveling at freeway speeds, yet
there still is. I disengage the recirculation button or open the
fresh air allowing air to enter the cabin and voila more air flow is
detected and more heat from, yes the engine compartment.

Fan switch is off.

I detect the air flow and additional heat only while the car is
impacting forward air, thus a leak is what could only be causing the
additional flow of air.

So, whatever is in the front of the car (plenum, damper) is allowing
air to enter the cabin only while the car in foward motion.

So, yeah park it or drive in reverse. I get it.

Thanks
