My 1987 924 S sometimes misses when I give it gas. This has only happened
twice; wet out both times.
Engine and wires were dry. It idles fine during this nonsense, falling back
to 950 RPM and holding there OK.
It seems to run fine at high speeds and RPM; this problem only occuring in
first or second from a dead stop.
As best I can describe it , when I pull out of a stop she seems to coughing,
missing on a few cylinders, and then, at higher speed and/or RPM is OK

everything you say is consistant with weak ignition wires or cap - these
last so long we forget that they need to be changed - about once per
decade - they are not cheap, but get the OEM wires, don't go for the cheap
stuff - replace wires, dist cap and rotor (beware that you will need the
right allen wrench to get the rotor off, and you will want some locktite
when you put it back - read the manual on this)
