My carpet is wet on the front passenger floor. So I pulled up the
carpet and found the source of the water. The water was not coming
from the ac, which i first thought but from a tube that is on the
right side of the car near the floor and the front of the door,
directly behind the front wheel well. I ran the ac and then the
defroster for a while, but no water came out of the tube. It rained
today and there was water dripping out of the tube. So im thinking
its some sort of drain independant of the ac. It has apparently been
leaking for a while because there are water stains near that tube.
why whould nissan put a drain tube there? It seems that it is so easy
for water to run to the floor from there.
How do I go about fixing this. I have yet to get under the car to see
if there is a hole that is clogged up under there. Any sugesstions?
Thanks, Chris
Do you have a sunroof?

That tube probably originates in the heater box behind the glove box.
Get a bucket ready and pull the tube from the box. You'll probably find
the box has water in it.
The cause could be that the drain tube is blocked by debris that gets
into the system through the air intake vents on the cowl in front of the
windshield.
Make sure the tube is cleared before putting it back. I had the same
problem in my PU and that was the cause.

Yes I do have a sunroof.
I dont think that tube does originate from the heaterbox. Only
because I have run the ac/and defrost and a puddle has formed under
the car normally.

Do you want to retract this statement then?

of the tube".

Is it corrugated about 20mm?
It's a fan motor cooling air hose. Connects from fan outlet and passes
air to a cap on bottom of motor. Shouldn't have water in it unless fan
is full of water too and then it wouldn't run. I did find a lot of
finely chopped chaff in my fan motor.

Plain small bore?
Sunroof drain, should come down A-plillar and pass out under car
though hole in inner sill. There will be 4 drain tubes one from each
corner of sunroof, front ones go down A-pillar, rear ones go down rear
pillars.
problem solved
that tube is the sunroof drain outlet. the sunroof is leaking. i
poured water on the sunroof and water got inside. i then opened the
sunroof and poured water in it and water came pouring out of that
tube. it seems stupid that nissan would put a drain outlet inside
the car, but anyway.
thanks for the sugesstions
