Programming keyless remote

Hi, I'm new to the forum and recently bought a 2000 Eclipse GT. It came
with a keyless remote entry and works great. The dealer gave us a new
keyless remote that doesn't work. I assume the new remote needs to be
programmed for the car.
Can anyone give me programming instructions? My dad will help me if I can
get the instructions.

Yes. I posted the procedures just a week or two ago...This is for a DSM:

Ground pin 1 on the ECU diagnostic connector (top left).
Close all doors
Turn ignition to ACC then back to off
Press the fob button once, pause and press it two more times within a 10
second window.

If it worked, the doors will automatically lock and unlock.
