I ordered my truck new in '84. I know that Blazer didn't come with a factory
big-block! I tried to get one in my 1/2 ton. Bet it will get up and go.

I don't know why they didn't, it bolts right into the small block void with out
any trouble. In fact with the air and cruise in place you would swear it came
from the factory.

I made the bumpers, and welded the seams completely. I have fittings and a guage
attached to let me fill them up with air. If I don't air down too much I can
get 2 tires back up off of one bumper.

I believe the 3/4 ton Blazers had the K10 desigination instead of K5.
Take a look and see, I imagine you have one of those. (JEALOUS IN NC)
I wonder if you like put some nerf bars on it, and
aired those up, if it would like, make it float or something...
I own a 1983 Chevy 2wd 6.2 diesel 4sp manual.
Plain jane but it'll go through the snow much
more easily than my Mustang.

It has the 2.8 V-6 (for now) with a custom ground cam an an edelbrock intake

doesn't run bad but the plans call for a 305/350 swap soon.
I'm looking for other S-10 owners in the North Jersey area to possibly form

Sorry, I'm not in your area and am just wanting to
pester you with questions.
I'm looking to buy a used S-15 (I'm a G.M. man)
pickup and modify it for off-road use. It will also be my
daily driver, so I'm not looking to be too radical.
My questions are:
How is your truck off-road?
What kind of lift have you done? How was it done?
I understand suspension lifts are expensive for the IFS.
Are 31's the largest tires it will take?
(I don't think I want bigger anyway)
Did you modify the fenders to take the bigger tires?
Would you intake/exhaust system be legal in California
(which our government is threatening to copy.)
Did you look into fuel injecting yours?
Would buying a fuel injected version of the 2.8 make a difference in
performance?
What (in a nutshell) is involved in the engine swap your
thinking about. Would a 4.3L swap be easier or cheaper.
I know that that is a lot of questions,
but any input/advice would be appreciated.
Finally, I tried to E-mail the above to you, but it gave me some error
message, so I pasted it here. Sorry to wast bandwidth.
BTW, I oen an 1992 S-15 4x4 Jimmy that I don't like taking off-road and a 1983
S-15 2WD pickup that I wish was a 4x4.
