Capsule Review: Ford Focus ST
I wish I had more time with the Focus ST, but circumstances conspired to cut my loan short; I was off on the West Coast, driving a hot hatch older than I am, as well as two competitors, the Volkswagen GTI and the Mazdaspeed3. Driving those two back to back gave me some context before [...] Read More: [link]... more »

Don't park a 06 Mustang downhill to wash it
thought I'd share this... There is a 2006 Mustang convertible that lives at my house and is usually covered. I had to move it the other day, then there was some rain and dust, so I did the right thing and washed it before putting the cover back on. My driveway has a slight downhill slant toward the... more »

2001 ford station wagon AC problem
May 29, 2013 Friend of mine has a Ford station wagon, four door. AC not working. I put the low side gage on. Engine off, about 100 PSI. Start engine, run the AC. Low side drops to 20, then up to 40, and back to 20. Then after doing this several times, it goes back up to 100 and stays. No refrigerant was added, or removed during this process. What might be the problem?... more »

1988 Ford F-150. Straight 6 cyl. 300 engine, manual tranny, with 4WD. It was running fine. I parked it, got in it later and it ran for a couple seconds and quit. I tried to start it again, and smoke came out from under the hood. I opened the hood and found the fuseible link on the red wire coming from the EEC relay was burned in half.... more »

Edge Fuel Injector Service
Had the oil changed on our 2010 Edge with 40K miles and was told by the dealership I needed a $90 Fuel Injection service and to have the coolant flushed. I passed on both thinking they were just trying to upsell me on profitable services. When should the injectors be serviced? How about fuel injector cleaners added to the fuel?... more »

Why There's No Powershift Option On The Ford Fiesta Ecoboost
During the launch of the Ford Fiesta 1.0L Ecoboost, multiple outlets ran articles parroting Ford's PR line about the lack of an automatic transmission. Apparently, Ford declined to offer an automatic or Powershift dual-clutch gearbox on the 3-cylinder Fiesta since a two-pedal option would run counter to the 1.0L's stated mission of being both fun [...]... more »
