I have a ’93 Festiva and I can get no spark at all from the coil. I
have just recently replaced the 1.3L engine. It is a fuel injected
engine with the newer optical distributor (electronic advance). There
just isn't that much wiring on this engine and I have gone over all
connections a hundred times. I have replaced the ignition module,
coil, ECM, and the distributor, and still nothing. I have done every
test in the book, but they just seem to take me around in circles. I
read on one post that on the ground side of the coil, I should get a
flickering light with a light meter while cranking the engine. I tried
this and I have a ground with the key off, but as soon as I turn the
key on, the ground goes away and does not flicker when cranked. I have
spent weeks on this and stumped two full time mechanics. I do have
fuel, and all electrical circuits are working, just no spark. PLEASE
HELP! Any ideas will be appreciated. I don't know where to look
next...
