Ok guys could use your advise, just sold my 03 Hemi 4x4 1500 off road, and
bought a new 05 diesel, 4x4 thunder road 2500. Going to buy a Montana
camper, install a 5th wheel, hook it up and hit the road. Will look for a
newsgroup site for camper questions, but this is my first diesel truck, and
would like ANY advise you can give me on fuel, maintenance, and any general
info that a new diesel man should know..yes I have read the owners manual
cover to cover.. Thanks, Mutt from Atlanta

Mutt:

First of all, if you read the owner's manual from cover to cover, you are
ahead of about 75% of the folks on this NG! Good on you!

Just follow the severe maintenance schedule in your OM and change the oil at
7,500 miles. Use a good quality diesel oil such as Delo 400 or Rotella.
Drain the water separator at each oil change and rotate the tires at each
oil change. Replace fuel filter every 15,000 and service the diff's at
15,000 also. Be prepared for a pretty pricey diff service since the fluid
the American Axles require is high bux. If you have an automatic trans, it
gets serviced at 30,000 miles along with the air filter if not sooner.

Now towing for the first 500 miles and then let 'er rip!

Lots of Dodge diesel info available at the Turbo Diesel Register website....
www.turbodieselregister.com

Good prices can be had for Cummins (Fleetguard) filters can be had at .....
www.genosgarage.com

and a good RV newsgroup can be found at rec.outdoors.rv.travel

Need anymore info, give us a holler!

Mike

just want 5ths.

Might want to take a look at the TDR site. Not only does it cover all
you might want to know on the Cummins but it has a a towing, hauling,
and RV forum. http://www.turbodieselregister.com/

I tried to register this morning and the link is down to do so. Maybe they
got water in the fuel or something.
