Hi,

Anyone know the easy way to fix an airbag fault on a Matiz? I'm sure there's
nothing wrong with the airbag, I just want the light out.

Thanks,
SW

SW,

Had the light come on on my 1999 Lanos, and when it was checked out using
the Daewoo scan tool, the airbag ECU had packed in.

The cost for the genuine part.... around £400 plus fitting

Not sure where you are from (I'm in the UK), but my advice would be to take
it to Vauxhall/Chevrolet dealer and get them to check it out with the proper
scan tool - you will need this to reset the light anyway, even after a
successful repair.

If you are in the UK and as a matter of interest, I obtained a good, used,
genuine ECU from LVM Ltd (http://www.leavalleymotors.co.uk/) for the 'huge'
sum of £45.24 and delivered the next day, fitted free (as part of a service)
by a friendly Daewoo technician who also reset the thing.

Be aware, that if you decide to 'have a go' yourself, the battery *MUST* be
disconnected for at least 30 minutes (techies advice) before you start - if
you don't do this, the whole thing could apparently blow-up in your face
causing possible injury to yourself.

Hope this helps
