I have noticed that some of the Corvette crossed flag badges are different.
The checkered flags mostly (I think) have a black square at the top left of
the flag. I have seen a few that have a white square there. Are the white
ones just a bad repo version or did Chevy used both versions on the
Corvette? The ones in question are '63, '64, '65, '66 and '67. Don't know
about other years.

Striker, I just checked my '63 and the checkered flags on the nose and side
emblems have a black square on the top left. However, it is noteworthy that
the Fuel Door emblem has a white square on the top left.

I checked further and found that the nose emblem on the '64 and and '67 and
the side emblems on the '64, '65 & '66 were the same as my '63 having a
black square on the top left. However, the nose emblem on the '65 and '66
have a white square on the top left. The '67, of course, did not have the
side flag emblems. I further found that the checkered flag on the Fuel Door
of the '64 and '65, like my '63 is white at top left; while the '66 and '67
are black on the top left. - Sting Ray

Looks like Chevy left us with a little puzzle to solve. Thanks.
