We had a little gig on Friday where my bass player went into the venue
first and started setting up while I was still unloading. Before I got
in there the bass player had already agreed with the venue owner,s
request to put one on of my main speakers outside of the building to
draw people into the venue. As the bass player had already agreed
that's what we ended up doing and I ended up using one speaker inside
the venue. It drives me crazy hearing all the sound from one side and
totally eliminates the touch of stereo chorus I like to have on the
guitar. We also ended up running a power cable and xlr cable through
the doorway with the door way cracked open letting cold air into the
building. We have to go back there this Friday.

Anyone no of a low cost minimal wireless battery system that would allow
me to meet the owners request? I would feed from the aux channel of my
Soundcraft EFX8.

Do these wireless systems work through a glass window?

Thanks

Danielle

Some energy efficient windows may attenuate the signal. My guess it would
still work.

** Leaving any speaker sitting outside seems foolish in the extreme.

With a battery operated, wireless one that would be just asking for it to
be stolen.

Good point Phil. I think for this I really want an unpowered piece of
junk and some old low cost speaker wire. I will see how hard the owner
pushes on this.

I think it really should be the owners responsibility for this with us
just giving him a line level signal. Last time I stopped by there I saw
another performer comply with the owners request with the heavy door
closing on his XLR cable.
