He was an angel, a messenger of the gods, plus "Satan" was the son
of Jesus in some ways, and Satan and Lucifer were confounded, so one
could say that they were in fact agents of the gods, they did the bidding
of the gods.

Except that some Christanics -- not all -- actualy *do* think that he
was Jesus' brother which would make Lucifer/Satan a son of the gods.
Hell, there are variants of Christianity that make Jesus just one son
out of an uncontable number of sons birthed by their "father" gods like
we see in the Mormon hate cult.
I think we could easily make the case that Lucifer is/was an agent of
the Christanic gods.
