Think is, if celibacy is demanded of Priests, the group will self-select for those without a strong sex drive, or who believe themselves to have no pressing need for sex.

Most of these will probably be people who are naturally asexual, but some will be those ignorant of, or in denial about, their own sexuality.

Then, of course, you put them in a position of authority over children.

Of course some will be attracted to the profession by that "fringe benefit".
