BRAVO TV, a welcome mat for homophobes

ads from one of the foremost secular homophobic hate groups
in the country. The ads appear to have an anti-racist message,
but contain contact information for "Aesthetic Realism" and
organization which claims to "cure" homosexuality.
Eli Siegel, upon whose writings "Aesthetic Realism" is supposed
to be based, was a dyed in the wool homophobe. This is his
theory:
l. All homosexuality arises from contempt of the world, from not
liking it sufficiently.
2. This develops into a contempt for women.
3. All contempt, unless you are proud of it, is unjust both to the
other person and to yourself.
4. Has there ever been a person who did not care for women and thought
well of himself about this absence?
5. Homosexuality, like biting one's nails, depression, and excessive
gambling, arises out of a disproportionate way of seeing the world.
6. There are other ways a person has of not liking himself, but
homosexuality is one.
7. The question of homosexuality is concerned with the deep matter,
always present in art, of sameness and difference.
8. How samenesss and difference become one through completing each
other is everlastingly the greatest aesthetic question; sameness and
difference is what homosexuality doesn't sufficiently honor.
Aesthetic Realism has run ads in the NY Times headlined
"We Have Changed from Homosexuality," and has disrupted AIDS
conferences with demonstrations claiming that the "cure" for
AIDS was their "cure" for homosexuality.
Obviously Bravo and its parent company didn't realize the nature
of this organization when they accept the apparently anti-racist
ad.
Let them know who they are dealing with.

I always thought that they were an xtian group. I wonder how Siegel uses
the above to explain lesbians.
Actually, I don't really care, as it's grade-A b.s. in the first place.

I agree. I think an even better strategy would be to write to the other
advertisers.

Although "curing" homosexuality is total bullshit, I fail to see how being
anti-homosexual is racist.
A homophobic could promote racial harmony while promoting the
discrimination against homosexuals, not likely I know.
