That is because there is a more sensible and evidence based scientfic
reason. Why abandon a sensible explanation for one based entirely
on ignorance, superstition and pure guess work?
In North Yorkshire there are several large hill sized Coral Reefs
which have been exploited for Lime for hundreds of years. There
is a massive reef just to the North East of Skipton (leastways they
used to be since most of it has been quarried away)
Google Earth N53:58:30 W1:68:30 (also try street view from the roads
around to guage how large and long this reef is under the grass).
Coral only thrives in shallow tropical seas and their fossilised
remains take a very long time to grow into large reefs. A flood would
not be time enough for that to happen plus it is far too cold here for
Coral to survive and grow. Yet they have been here for enough time
to grow large reefs. We have a perfectly valid set of theories to
explain how they got there, have you Creationist?
(what Coral is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coral_reef )
Evolutionary theory along with other scientifc theories has a perfect
valid explanation for this along with the fossils to be found on Mount
Everest and that Includes the vast fossilised remains (coal) of a
large tropical forest further south both in South Yorkshire and
Lancashire. If a theory is to stand it must be able to explain all the
evidence not just selected aspects and thus far eovlutionary theory
(along with geological theories) has stood the test of time .
So, I know how these things happened based on sound theories but
presumably you will regard your Biblical explanation as the only true
one so kindly explain why there are large hill sized Coral reefs in
the Craven District of North Yorkshire far inland and long way north
of the equator amongst some of the highest hills in the UK
I see no reason why your creationist theory should not stand or fall
by the same standard we hold scientifc ones to, so if your flood
theory is to err 'hold water' you will need to explain why these Coral
reefs are here as outlined above. As already explained they could
not possibly have been caused by a flood lasting less that a year
as hundred of thousands of years would be required to build
large coral reefs.
We await your answer with eager anticipation. A good laugh
is always welcome :-)
