So, your point is? When has a sitting president ever directly instituted laws
or taxed or paid off debts?

Yup. For two years. Then the same majority of people who voted for Obama (and
really, wasn't this election a glorified referendum on Obamacare?) and who
wanted to see Obamacare put in place, will get a chance to vote in the mid-term
elections.

If the Republicans don't want to get turfed into total irrelevance, with a
Democrat controlled White House, House, and Senate, they'd better be prepared
to abide by the will of the electorate to get Obamacare passed. If they don't,
they'll be out on their asses in 2 years. Right-wingers will then cry
"A-bloo-bloo-bloo" even harder.

GOP Opposes Their Own Ideas — If Obama Backs Them
Tue, 26 Jun 2012

One idea Republicans had been pushing was a proposal
for a bipartisan commission to recommend tough deficit-
reduction measures. But then the Obama administration
decided to embrace the idea.

And, lo and behold, as Mike Allen reported in Politico,
the Republicans promptly turned on their heels and
repudiated it. Six of the bill's Republican co-sponsors
voted against it. The justification was that mumble mumble
tax increases mumble.

Obama:

"This law failed by seven votes when seven Republicans
who had co-sponsored the bill — had co-sponsored the
idea — suddenly walked away from their own proposal after
I endorsed it"

What did I lie about, you ignorant fool?

Congress passed Obamacare, you stupid fool.Rather, the Democratic majority that existed at the time passed it.Then, in November 2010, the voters got tired of
Obummer's spending spree and gave the GOP control of the House of Representatives so Obummer couldn't do it anymore.

And yet, the President has the phone numbers of everyone in the
Congress.

Obama's Fiscal Cliff speech was unambiguous. If Congress continues
to obstruct for purely political reasons, he won't back down any
more. Future failures to implement the MANDATE he received will
be placed squarely on their doorstep.

He has been blaming them for things for four years, but it doesn't do much good, since the voters gave the GOP control of the House this year in spite of what he says.Maybe the voters, like me, don't trust him to tell the truth anymore.

Control of the House isn't a toy for the GOP to use to advance their
political agenda, but that is exactly what they have been using it for.
The obstructionism at the expense of the country's safety and welfare
is beyond egregious.

President Obama pledged to stop caving in on the extortion that the
GOP has been performing against the American people. On December 31st,
the Bush tax cuts WILL expire. It's up to the House whether they
expire for just the millionaires or for everybody. And it will be the
GOP who will own the consequences of whichever scenario occurs. If
they agree to only let the cuts expire for millionaires, I'd guess
there's a shot they may still have control in 2015. If they don't, I
can't see how they will.

Apparently, he is incapable of skipping over your posts on his own.

The concept of an executive is lost on Bruno.
Apparently here is no need at all for a president.
Romney apparently knew this and that's why he didn't seem to have any
real budget plan.

I wonder about all his talk about what he was going to shut down on
his first day in office.
