I watched a docu on a major Chicago gang leader. One memorable fact was
that the repeal of prohibition nearly ruined him. Decriminalization takes
the contraband off the street and puts it behind a phamaceutical counter
where the government can collect a tax revenue and regulate it, making it
safer for the user to purchase what he needs, thereby forcing the
trafficker to find a new job. Like killing for hire...

Christians are like Slinkys. They're boring, but they'll put a smile on
your face when you push them down the stairs.

Well, Idle hands ARE the devil's playground, aren't they?

Amen. The war on drugs was like
treating a cold sore with amputation.

Hmm... Devil's hands are the Idol's playground. Heh, that works too.

Agreed. The so called "war on drugs" has been a total failure in all
respects with disastrous consequences...impure & poisonous drugs,
death, violence, robbery, gang wars, over crowded prisons and backed
up court cases to name a few.

If we could eradicate the "war on drugs" and then religion to boot,
there'd be one hellava marked improvement in this country.

What "disastrous 'war on drugs'"? Everything went just according to plan.

Follow (all) the ("wasted") money, see where that leads you.

I wonder what would happen to the South American drug lords if cocaine
and crack were legal in the USA.

But the DEA was just an excuse to arm men with the latest toys, men
who liked playing with them toys and who were no better than the men
they were fighting, and have them available as part of the
Plutocracy's collection of strongarms. They won't be throwing all that
force away any time soon.
