Since atheists like to bitch so much about theists, why don't you guys
start buying land where you can create your atheist paradise on earth?
I suspect it would be a Communist paradise.

Put ourselves all in one place so you theists can more easily kill us? No

You don't want to be among the theists, AND you don't want to be
separate from the theists. You must be an american woman. There is
just no way to make you happy!

Since you guys are so smart, wouldn't this enlightened atheist society
be able to take over the world in no time at all?

Maybe if he read Henry Kuttner's book "Mutant" (written
under the penname Lewis Padgett) he'd understand. I
doubt it, though. It would mean that he'd have to read
a book.

The reason Communism was such an abysmal failure, morally and
practically speaking, is that it had so much in common with religion,
at least the way the Russians practiced it. Communism had a concept of
authoritative sacred scripture (i.e. writings of Marx, Engels, Lenin,
etc.), a concept of heresy (i.e. Trotskyism, etc.) and a complicated
"party line", the slightest deviation of which constituted blasphemy.
In the old days the Church had an Inquisition; Stalin had "reeducation
camps". In the old days (and for some Christians still) prosyletizing
others is an obligation; in the early days Communists considered it
their duty to spread the "revolution" all over the world. Catholics
and Prots fought some hideous religious wars in Europe for centuries;
but for the grace of God (figuratively speaking) Russia and China could
have gotten into a major war over ideological differences. They were
at the brink in the late 60s. The history of the 20th century shows
that atheists can be every bit as evil as religious people if they
practice the same irrationalities.

Wow! You managed to "out-dumb" J Young!
How did you do that?!?!

Here's a cue: we don't bitch about theists. Actually, we couldn't care
less about what people decide to believe in. We bitch about people
judging us, about people who wants to impose THEIR beliefs on us and we
bitch about some theists' incapability of coming with an intelligent

Where do you people get this stupid idea that atheism has anything to
do with communism?

Has it occurred to you that we are too intelligent to think that
communism is a good system?

Already own my own land thank you.

Where are you posting from? Here we belief in freedom of speech
and of conscience. I live in a democracy where the majority rules
and we run our nation by consensus arrived at by persuation
and the ballot box.

When a religious minority tries to dictate to the majority what
it can say or do they are swiftly pit in their place as would
be any self-appointed, self-righteous minority group.

As it happens, a few hundred years ago minority religious
groups tried to impose themselves and we tol them exactly
what you are saying above. Screaming persecution (for
being rejected) they went off in a huff to our colonies
in the America's . Judging by their continued attempts to
intefere in the lives of others I say good riddance

Why not join in our campaign to make the day the
Pilgrim fathers left for the New World "Thanksgiving Day"
No doubt everybody cheered when they left. I am still
cheering now. Surely it aught to be a day to celebrate?

We already have such a place. It is called "United States of America".
When it was founded, the government was specifically designed to be
secular. It was the first time in the history of the world that a
government was created "by the people, for the people", and did not claim
that its authority derived from any god or monarch. It is still a good
system, though occasionally religious fanatics infest portions of it.
When that happens, we have to call the pest-control division of the EAC to
straighten things out.

I agree with almost everything you said.

The problem is people in general are always trying to impose their
preferences on others; until we learn otherwise, shit will happen. We
need to get rid on envy also, which is the first commandment of all

Maybe (but doubtful). However, not all atheists are communists. I'm an

You are correct. I never said that all atheists are communists.

Given that you decided that the following 2 statements are equivalent,
you are not much of a judge of logic.

1) All communists are atheists.
2) All atheists are communists.

Most Polish communists were Catholic. Most Cuban and other Central and
South American communists are also Catholic.

The two are orthogonal. One is an economic system with common
ownership by the community and the other is the simple demographic
absence of the defining property of some religions.

That sounds like Christians who aren't supposed to bear false witness
yet are allowed to lie to bring others into the fold.

Communists lie.

If they were orthogonal, then the distribution of communists by
religious affiliation would be the same as for non-communists. It
isn't, therefore they aren't.

I see you can't read either. I said not all atheists are communists in
the text above. And you blathering on about communism to atheists is
totally pointless, given that you claim to understand the two premises
you list above are not equivalent. You wouldn't recognize logic if it

Twice, well, let's see. First time, the germans were, if anything, in
the right.
Second world war, now let's see, 1939, the germans invade Poland,
france, britain etc declare war on germany.
By the end of 1940 it was us, on our own, against the germans. Then the
russians entered the war, initially taking pressure off us, but also,
eventually, helping turn the tide. The allied victories at El Alamein
and Stalingrad would each have been meaningless without the other.
Now, the americans seemed happy to let british soldiers, airmen,
sailors and civilians die during this time, and all the "aid" we
received was tied up to repayments.
1942, the americans are attacked. Finally america is in the war, they
send some help.
D-Day. Five landings made, two british, two american, one free french.
1945 Russian soldiers storm berlin and hitler commits suicide.

The americans did amazingly against the japanese, and certainly helped
in europe, but it wasn't that clear cut. By the time the americans
joined in in europe, the tide had turned towards the allies.

I presume that you are eternally grateful to the french, as without
them, america would still be an english colony.

You and all your colonies, and a virtually unlimited amount of supplies
from the US (did you "forget"?).

You are comparing a battle in the middle of the desert between 200,000
brits and 100,000 germans (by the way, the british had a huge amount of
american supplies), with an ongoing war where MILLIONS of soldiers
where involved on each side and result of which would determine the
fate of the countries. Ah, but El Alamein had Monty, so it must have
been important. This clown had more men, and better equiped than
Rommel but couldn't defeat Rommenl until the latter ran out of
supplies.

I thought atheists were supposed to be exceptic when hearing bullshit,
but I guess you are british before atheist.

I am not american, but live there. Whether the US would still be a
colony is impossible to know (is this an atheist power which theists
lack?). Damn right they owe to the french, but then the french didn't
help just to be "nice", but to stick it to you brits. Did you think
you guys invented that kind of Real Politik shit?

That statement is true, unless you want to consider "The State" to be a
god, which is what totalitarian regimes do; that's why they repress any
kind of organization, including religious ones, which is not completely
controlled by the Apostles of The State.

Oh, you're not going to be a pedantic idiot too boot, are you? Anyone
living under a communist regime is generally referred to as a
communist. There are plenty of "communist" citizens who are religious.
Your statement is a lie, especially the part where you say "even the

few who claim not to be."

And the State is not a god, but it's interesting how you equate god
with totalitarian regimes. That is the first thing we agree on.

Most of my close friends are atheists and are concerned about people and
their well being.
I've gotten up at three AM to care for people I didn't and still don't know.

As for being a fundie, that's questionable. It was a christian fundie that
made me consider my beliefs and decide I was in fact an atheist. Present
evidence for one or more dieties that is acceptable and I would re-consider.
Look around you and the argument from cause don't count, even if you do know
what comes next in the latter.

So anybody that doesn't try to escape that Socialist Paradise must be a
communist?
Do you have any idea of how lucky you have to be to be found by a
passing ship in the middle of the ocean? Even so, more than 10 cubans
arrive in the US each day by boat, raft, inner tube, anything that
floats.
What do you think drives people to throw themselves to sea? Don't

"pedantic idiot" being anyone who points out your mistakes?
When you live in a totalitarian regime, either you follow the party

Yes. Pedantic idiot. If you meant religious people living under
communist regimes, you should have said so. And you also said anyone
one who is a communist (i.e. someone living in a communist country,
which is common usage) is an atheist even if they say they aren't. It's
really fun to play word games with you. Instead of making us guess what
you mean (I like the part where we're supposed to read your mind that
your not a Christian...instead of being an asshole about it, why don't
you say you aren't in the first place?) why don't you be more specific?
Like when you say communist, you don't mean people living in communist
countries, unless they're atheists, in which case they're communists no
matter where they are. Are you ever a loon.

It looks like you are as stupid as I suspected. Following your
"logic", you are a Republican whether you like it or not. The beauty
of being so stupid is that you are too stupid to know that you are
stupid. People like you amuse me, except when they are involved in any
kind of decision making which affects me. Guess what I think about
universal voting rights?

We already went through this, but for the benefit of the slow ones,
let's review:

"All communists are atheists" IS NOT EQUAL TO "All atheists are
communists".

Is that too hard to understand?

Acts 2:31-5
God via the Holy Ghost commands communism

31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken
where they were assembled together; and they were
all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the
word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of
one heart and of one soul: neither said any of
them that ought of the things which he possessed
was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness
of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great
grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked:
for as many as were possessors of lands or houses
sold them, and brought the prices of the things
that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and
distribution was made unto every man according as
he had need.

He will have access to the prison library computer until then, and
won't go away, (unless Jimmy the knife takes a dislike to him).

Off topic, irrelevant to the discussion and bearing in mind the
history of past events not true anyway. I will let it pass since
there is a more appropriate newsgroup for discussion of these
issues and I detemine what I discuss here not you. You
derogatory comments are noted since it helps me determine
what kind of person you are

>You think you are free eh? How much do pay in taxes? Let's not bother

Ditto relevance I shall let it pass since again it is a discussion
that is off topic here and, as I say, I decide what to discuss here
not you.

>Judging by the number of spelling errors (in your native language!), I

The spelling errors are due to my trying to type too quickly. Yes I
had a socialist education, isn't all public education socially
motivated? It is considered the right of every child to be educated
and the state takes responsibility to ensure it happens regardless
of the parents ability to pay. From each according to ability, to
lordseach according to need. Again I note your derogatory comments.

Returning to the topic after your diversion:

So, can I take it you will not be supporting my "Thanksgiving Day"
campaign to celebrate the leaving of most of the religious
malcontents from our green and pleasant land? True, those who
stayed still try to tell us how to live our lives but, as I say, this
is a free country we are free to ignore their nonsense. We
certainly don't start demanding they leave as others seem to
elsewhere where freedom of expression is not so well understood.
Seems it is only freedom to do things their way and anybody
who has a different view is told to shut up or clear off.
So much for freedom of conscience. Let them get their way
and freedom will die along with democracy to be replaced
by a mythical " Lord" and his self-elected 'respresentatives'
on earth to 'interpret' his will for us. No way.
