You do not seem to realize that the Israelis are completely OUT of the Gaza Strip, with zero settlements.

Set a battery of 50,000 rockets that are wired to a radar defense system and put on full auto. Every one rocket that comes from Gaza to Israel (whether it lands harmlessly or not) is instantly, without human intervention, answered by a rocket from Israel to an ever-diminishing list of Hamas military sites. Then I would go about my business. The Palestinians would be in the position of a spoiled brat trying to "punish" his parents by beating his own head against the wall.

Resistance in Gaza Reaches Further than Tel Aviv, Hits Israeli
Warship
Shortly after the Palestinian resistance in Gaza hit an Israeli
warship, fighters fired on Sunday rockets which reached further than
Tel Aviv for the first time since the offensive started last
Wednesday.
Herzliya, 85 km far from Gaza, was hit by Islamic Resistance Movement,
Hamas’ military branch, Qassam Brigades.
Few hours earlier, the resistance fired an Israeli warship facing
Gaza’s coast.
Qassam Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attack, as they issued
a video tape showing how an Israeli fighter jet was downed by rockets
fired two days earlier.
The Zionist entity has been targeted by more than 770 Palestinian
rockets and missiles since November 14, Israeli media sad.
Rockets fired from Gaza on Sunday landed in occupied territories of
Ashkelon, Ashdod, Kiryat Malakhi, and Eshkol area, where up to 9
Israelis, including 3 occupation soldiers were injured.
These operations are part of several achievements accomplished by the
Palestinian Resistance.
On Thursday, the Qassam Brigades had downed an Israeli drone, calling
its operation against the Israeli enemy “Baked Caly Rocks”, referring
to a term in the holy Quran.
Earlier on Thursday, Islamic Jihad’s military branch, al-Quds Brigades
fired Iranian-made long-range missiles, Fajr 5, on Tel Aviv.
Fajr 5 rockets are among hundreds of missiles the Palestinian
resistance groups have fired on the occupied territories, breaching
the Iron Dome which the Israeli officials bragged they processed it,
and proving it is a futility.
Shortly after the assassination of Hamas’ commander Ahmad al-Ja’abari
on Wednesday, several resistance figures threatened a harsh response,
saying the Zionist Entity has opened “gate of Hell” on itself.
Now reports are coming in that a harlot Helicopter was just shot
down... and Tel Aviv is in Panic... like rats they run to holes for
protection....
I tell you yids never had to kill al-Ja’abari or attack press tv...
now they have a spell on their heads and the gates of the beast
opened.

I was talking about the numerous superkosher settlements on
Palestinian land around Jerusalem and did not, you will notice,
mention Gaza.

Hamas military sites?
What would those be, then?
They have no "military sites". Rockets are cobbled together in
cellars and garages, transported to a lonely spot, and
immediately after firing the crew disappears. All your automated
system would achieve would be bomb craters in wasteland or on
parking lots.
Hamas does have offices, storage spaces, shop fronts. That's
because Hamas is not only an evil-doing bunch of wicked
terrrorists. They are also a political party (who legitimately
won the last democratic elections in Gaza), as well as a social
and charitable organisation: they operate comprehensive services
from ambulances to food banks to home help for the disabled to
schooling for the kids. Those are targets that can be hit.

"Unfortunately, wars in our region have become like a race, so each
war is to cover another one. In other words, these wars are nothing
more than a move to escape forward. Therefore what is happening in
Gaza is escaping forward, particularly in the hope of saving al-Assad

for everybody. The greatest architect of such wars is Iran, from the

al-Assad and Iran, they resorted to the Gaza front, because this
can be inflamed far quicker".

Egypt and Israel? WHY?
They are not at war, have not been at war for decades, and are not threatening to go to war anytime soon.
They are also the two biggest recipients of US military aid, so America is in this instance a rather better political buffer than elsewhere in the region.
And above all, Egypt is the one country in the region with which Israel has an excellent natural buffer zone: the Sinai desert.

Stop building settlements in occupied territories: their only purpose is to keep the racist extremist nutjobs happy and busy, and they are a serious drain on both the economy and the military.
Raze all settlements already built and rehouse the bugfuck residents somewhere in Israel proper -- then invite the Palestinians to bomb the shit out of the ruins. This would please them while running down their supplies, and it would relieve a whole lot of tension.
Withdraw to the 1967 borders. They were negotiated, agreed upon, and are viable for both sides.
Keep the Golan Heights. They were Syrian to begin with, but they are of military importance, defensible and economically useful (decent wine-growing country).
Occupy and annexe Gaza, resettle all the residents: an independent Palestinian state is only going to be viable with one contiguous territory. Splitting the state in two will result in civil unrest and the transport corridor is far too much or a security risk. Plus, having Palestinians ship their export goods to Europe through Israel is good for the economy.
Negotiate treaties for water use and sharing; this, not land or oil is the most important resource in the area.
Negotiate treaties for movement of people, goods and troops. The IDF needs to have forward bases, workers need to be able to commute, Palestinian business needs access to Israeli infrastructure like airports and ports.
Agree that Jerusalem is the capital of both nations but the seat of actual government of neither nation; this saves face and satisfies the craving for national symbols on both sides.
Agree to a manageable and strict quota of three-day visas for Palestinians to be able to visit their old family homes and the graves of their loved ones.
Negotiate an extradition treaty whereby aggressors from one side are sent ot be tried under the system of the other side. The first few show trials should help deter the hothead extremist fuckwads on either side.
Ask for active and long-term support from the US and Europe -- not money but blue-helmet peacekeeping and training staff. If this is going to work, it's not going to be enough to tell the Palestinians "here's your own country", chuck a handful of cash at them and expect them to invent solid modern institutions from scratch.
Anyway, none of this will ever happen. Both sides have solid long-standing and well-entrenched political, economic and religious interests that are perfectly happy with the status quo.
A few dead Palestinians or Israelis is a small price to pay for them if they can keep on doing business as usual. That's why any serious move to defuse the situation, any initiative that threatens to make peace break out will be derailed to the silent applause of both sides.
And even if, by some miracle, there were a solid political consensus to work out a peaceful coexistence, it would not be allowed to happen because aside from the domestic pro-war factions this is also a conflict by proxy. There are powerful groups in America and the Arab world both who are keen to see this conflict perpetuated. Jews and Palestinians killing each other are a perfect distraction for Arab rulers from their own domestic worries, and are practically a religious mandate for USaian Christian fundie whackjobs who regard this as a necessary precursor for Armageddon. Peace in Israel/Palestine is the last thing either of these want because it would seriously mess up their lives.
So the real answer to your question "what would you do if you were in charge of Israel" would havee to be "out of power and replaced in a political coup or assassinated within a week".

THOSE are the military sites.
The fact that Hamas mixes in with the civilian population is of absolutely no concern to me.

Have you ever read the Hamas Charter? You should. Google it. Do they mean what they say? Are Americans sincere about the Constitution? The charter is a statement of the fundamental, non-negotiable principles of Hamas. Now imagine that you are an Israeli leader. Your foes not only don t accept your country s right to exist, but consider it their sacred duty to wipe you out. They don t negotiate in good faith, they don t honor cease-fire agreements, and they don t stop the bombing. Your move.
In Israel, here is one way they are dealing with the Hamas rocket attacks that target civilians:
