The impoverished nation, already struggling with civil war, has become
a far more inviting haven for Al Qaeda than even Afghanistan before
the 9/11 attacks.

There is no such threat. It is every bit as fake as
Bush's "Al Qaeda ties" in Iraq.
The Saudi's are at war with Yemen's Shiite minority.
But, why should a single Saudi die when they can pick
up the phone, dial the Bush Mafia Family and order
Americans to do their fighting and their dying for
them?
Obama == Dubya II
..and the U.S. has become an inviting haven for whacko Christians,
abusive Jesus camps, loony bin religious cults, corrupt evangelists
and perverted priests.
wacko christian? redundant!
abusive jesus camp? redundant!
loony bin religious cult? redundant!
corrupt evangelist? redundant!
perverted priest? redundant!
Brought to you by the department of redundancy department.
If only that were redundant.

Oh my! And right after the padre told us that things were going to get
worse in Afghanistan.
Doesn't ANYONE listen to the padre?

It was the science of materialist secular humanism that built the World
Trade Center and the plane that brought it down, but it was a non-
materialist religion (focused on afterlife rewards) that hijacked the
plane and brought it down. And your solution is....turn society back to
another non-materialist religion that focuses on afterlife rewards.
Muslims have no problem with Jews or Christians, they are, after all,
People of the Book. They don't even have to fight in jihad, if they pay
the jizya. But Muslims DO have a problem with materialist secular
humanists, who believe in neither Yahweh nor Christ nor Allah, and it is
between the unbeliever and the Muslim you find the war, not between the
various members of the Abrahamic monotheism.

Why should they pay a tax to somebody else's religion for practising a
different one?

The also have a problem with Hindus, or didn't you learn about the
slaughter in India during independence in modern history classes?

No. It is between the Muslim and those they hate for not believing in
the same pretend friend.
Hint: we wouldn't even know it was bullshit let alone call it that if
they only kept it where it is appropriate.

Hey, it works for Israel.

It's not just that people swallow patent propaganda so
eagerly.
It's that they swallow the *same* patent propaganda over
and over.

The Saudis are Sunnis. Yemen is majority Sunni. However,
the fighting in Yemen is between majority Sunnis and their
oppressed Shiite minority.
It has NOTHING to do with Al Qaeda and EVERYTHING to do with
the Saudis wanting Americans to fight & die in THEIR WAR.
Idiot.
There's enough of a threat to have the U.S. close its embassy in the
capital, Sana, as well as Britain doing the same.

Were you born yesterday?
Because if you were an adult you'd remember 2003,
when Iraq's WMDs and Al Qaeda ties were "enough of
a threat" to justify a full-scale invasion.
Anyhow, Google it. You'll see that everything I've
said is a fact. The Saudis have been fighting against
the Shiite muslims in Yeman.
"Al Qaeda" was supposed to be the creation of a Saudi
Arabian Sunni Muslim by the name of Osama bin Laden.
The Shiite muslims in Yeman are being backed by Iran.
US Reopens Yemen Embassy, Commends Counter-Terror Efforts
Voice of America - The U.S. Embassy in Yemen says it has reopened after
Yemeni forces successfully dealt with a security threat that prompted
its closure for two days.
The U.S. mission in Sana'a said Yemen had addressed a "specific area of
concern" by conducting a counter-terrorism operation Monday north of
Sana'a. It also warned that the threat of terrorism against American
interests in Yemen remains high.
The British Embassy in Sanna'a also reopened Tuesday but kept its public
services suspended.
The United States and Britain closed their embassies in Sana'a Sunday
due to warnings of a possible al-Qaida attack. Yemen says its forces
killed two al-Qaida members responsible for that threat Monday in an
operation in the northern region of Arhab.
Yemen's government also announced the arrest Tuesday of five suspected
al-Qaida members in the capital and the western region of Hodeida.
The U.S. mission in Sana'a commended Yemen's government for trying to
disrupt al-Qaida's affiliate in the region, and promised continued U.S.
support for those efforts.
On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Yemen's
instability is a threat to regional and global security. Yemen's
government has been fighting secessionist southern rebels, Shi'ite
fighters along the Saudi border and the growing presence of al-Qaida
militants.
Yemen-based Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula has claimed responsibility
for a Nigerian man's unsuccessful attempt to bomb a U.S.-bound airplane
on December 25.
The Nigerian, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, has told U.S. investigators he
was trained by al-Qaida operatives in Yemen.
You can say that again!
