DAVID SMALLEY NAMED NEW EDITOR OF AMERICAN ATHEIST MAGAZINE
Dr. Ed Buckner, President of American Atheist has announced the
appointment of David Smalley as Editor of the organization's monthly
magazine.
Mr. Smalley is 29, a graphic designer with strong background in the
print and audio-video fields, and lives in Garland, Texas. He enjoyed a
brief stint as a kicker for the semi-pro Dallas Warriors football team,
and practiced mixed martial arts (MMA) and coached Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
classes for youngsters. Dave has served as Design Editor of American
Atheist Magazine for the past year. He is host of "The Dogma Debate,"
an internet based radio show which discusses Atheism and religion; and
he is currently a psychology student with an emphasis on applied
behavioral analysis, with a minor in religious studies.
Dr. Buckner said that Mr. Smalley's appointment "is sure to maintain the
high journalistic standards of the American Atheist Magazine as one of
the premier publications in its field." The magazine has been a benefit
of membership in American Atheists since its humble beginnings (it was
printed on a mimeograph machine!) in the early 1960s.
Mr. Smalley sees a bright future for the journal.
"As Editor of American Atheist, my primary goal will be to continue the
solid, scholarly history of the magazine, while adding a progressive
design and content layout which will entertain, inform and inspire
others to get involved."
AMERICAN ATHEISTS is a nationwide movement that defends civil rights for

addresses issues of First
Amendment public policy.
