Atheism faced a number of challenges in 2009, and was
unable to meet all of them, with the the usual response:
Snip'n'Run Away.
The Parliament of World Religions, held in Melbourne's
largest convention venue, brought together organisations
representing Billions of people around the world!
Jews, Christians, Muslims, Bahai, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists,
Lakota Sioux, .. thousands of people from diverse spiritual
traditions met and exchanged their perspectives in peace
and harmony.
Even Wiccans and Pagans attended, finding themselves welcomed,
when they realised they wanted to be on the winning side,
working WITH others to achieve something practical.
Atheists met in a broom closet, on their own, as usual,
to prepare a response. After days of careful consideration,
arm flailing, teeth gnashing, self-congratulation and
hubris they issued a short press release:
"Booo.. Hiss! You are all wrong. We are the only True Believers!"
Then they donned their T-Shirts containing the total sum
of accumulated, if unproven, atheist thought, and left;
