Its rather ironic that we had a revolution to throw out England(Charles)
and that was over paying high taxes on tea,and a stamp tax. It was over
money. Now my country as Severn Trent from the UK,and home office
fraudulently billing for water and electric. I feel like Ben Franklin
putting my life on the line to fight this corruption. Severn Trent has
used Florida elected officials and police to stop me from spreading
information on their crimes. They are in reality killing young children.
Severn Trent Mafia answers not to the public. I have gone to Jeb Bush in
the past, and he is out to lunch. Now its Charlie Crist and he like Bush
is out to lunch. Reality is Severn Trent owns the republican party here
in Florida. I have as much chance staying alive as John Kennedy,or his
brother Bob. who also knew the Severn Trent Mafia was taking over the
USA. I fear that was over 40 years ago and now there is little hope to
stop the Mafia. Bert

Speaking of which, doesn't the price of stamps go up again next month?

Well, there is some hopeful news to report from NY state. Our
governor, Spitzer, announced last week that he is introducing a bill
for gay marriage.

On the other hand, Spitzer is making it hard for the elderly and
healthcare.

Scott I would not posts this here if the news would inform the public.
Nor if I could find one honest official here in Florida. I print up
flyers and pass them out at Wal-Mart and other stores. The Mafia fights
back with threats and turned off my water. Still I must do all I can for
my country, and hope posting it in news groups will do some good. I hope

Scott Reality is those people you mentioned,as knowing no science, are
by far more intelligent than you. Your just don't get it. You see
and hear only what you want. One book you do not have on your desk is
the elegant universe by Brian Greene. It has over 400 pages on the
"string theory" It was a best seller. Greene has his own show on NOVA.
String theory has no "math" much like quantum chromodynamics (math
fudged) A brief History of Time has no math in it.
Scott you can think without adding math to your thoughts(its the way
thinking of ideas is done) Your brain Scott can only create a dark
future for those you teach. You will not show them why new ideas are so
important. Yes I do experiments on photons, electrons, and time in my
garage Have built a "mechanical laser" and its rather week but will
pop a balloon. Other lasers use gas,or quartz,so I might have the
only mechanical laser in the whole world. It only cost me 15
bucks to make, and its only 18" long. It uses "white light" Kind of
proud of it I did not use math. to make it. If you were my teacher
and I mentioned this type of laser to you here is what you would tell
me. "It will not work" You are a negative thinker, and I only think
positively.. Bert

How do you know he doesnt?

I have them right here, plus Fabric Of the Cosmos, Parallel Universes (Kaku)
and The Road to Reality (Penrose)

What you don't understand is they have no math (except for TRTR which does)
because they are not meant as textbooks, merely popular science books. Just
cause there is no math in those books doesn't mean there is no math in the
theories.

Strong Theory actually requires a large amount of math in it such as Calabi-Yau
manifolds.

I had the radio on late last night, and randomly heard part George
Noory (aka Snorey) interviewing Nancy Lieder (aka Nancy Lied) on
"Coast-to-Coast AM", a woman who claims to channel the Zeta Reticulans
(<http://www.zetatalk.com/>). She is no stranger to usenet as her
loyal followers a number of years ago were trying to convince all of
usenet about the inbound doooooooom due to Planet X and the coming
"Pole Shift", liberally mixed with a ton of Sitchen's Annunaki
thoroughly discredited nonsense. The distinctive features of her
"interviews" are that she starts the BS with the phrase "this is what
the Zetas say", spews a load of nonsense in a flat monotone, and
concludes with "end of Zeta talk".

Highlights of the delusions included claiming that the "pole shift"
will happen before 2012 because carbon dating of the wood of the Mayan
calendars is notoriously inaccurate (the calendars are carved stone),
resulting in 90% loss of human life due to the "oceans sloshing
around". She also claimed the Zeta live 400 years and have an average
IQ of 278.

Anyway, at one point a caller managed to get through and proceeded rag
on Noory about giving a loon like Lieder a mouthpiece and pointed out
how ludicrous her claims. Noory's response: "I don't want to get into
an argument with the Zetas." I laughed, he actually puts credence in
her BS.

Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about.

The lack of intelligence of those I mentioned is evidenced by their
posts. I guess what you are saying is that they just post stupid stuff
to look stupid but are really bright.

I have the books you mention, and as is pointed out, they are not meant
to have math in them because they were not meant to be theory texts.
They simply provided the framework behind what is really deeply
understood mathematically to appeal to the public curiosity.

As to my teachings, I teach my students to be critical thinkers, to be
skeptical of all new ideas presented, especially those with no proofs or
means of verification. That is the best thing a teacher can teach a
student. Blind following is something left to the faith-based. Which
gets us back to much of your postings - proofs please.

As to your "laser", likely it isn't despite your claims. Heck, I can
pop a balloon using a magnifying glass and the Sun's white light, and it
would cost me even less than 15 bucks. But it isn't a laser.

One last comment on your last comment - you would be more honest if you
had stopped after the the slam on my thinking because you don't think.
You just type nonsense because of your true lack of grasp of real
science and how it succeeds.

Scott To show how stupid you are by thinking my mechanical laser relates
to using a magnifying glass to pop a balloon proves you are a very dim
thinker. I pop the balloon at 24 feet(length of my garage). Try that
with your magnifying glass. Who are you trying to kid?. I'm now
using blue light to do away with the mixture of photon wave lengths. You
would not like my mechanical laser, because its my idea and it works.
Scott we are not writing text books here we are discussing astronomy, and
physics. We are passing out ideas, showing pictures and trying to
figure out the shape of our universe.. I have been told I have a
creative mind,so my ideas come out of the box. Your brain is dead
Its inside a coffin enclosed with lead. You are buried with old books.
You are safe for nothing is evolving around you. Reality is you are
brain dead a walking zombe. Being brain dead its impossible for you to

No, this is a discussion on mafia-controlled utilities company or some
such nonsense you have concocted (hence the subject line you started
this with). It has degenerated into a discussion of your lack of
understanding of astronomy and physics, which is still not on topic for
this newsgroup but is closer than the start of this discussion.

As to your mechanical laser, it is likely not a laser. I suggest you
attempt to get it patented and see how far you get.

And, as to thinking about astronomy and physics - I have more
imagination in my little finger than you do in your entire head, which
is why it is so easy to demonstrate you lack any real knowledge on the
topic.

Both "white light" and "mixture of photon wave lengths", if accurate
descriptions, would seem to rule out the possibility that it's a laser.

Odysseus You are partially right the use of the letters that spell
"laser" I should change some what. Lets start with Light
amplification(that fits) but Stimulated Emission of radiation (kind of
fits) I just pulsed it again (hour ago using "coherent light" (blue),but
I can get it to fit better. I had my biggest problem narrowing the
beam. No problem creating the great flash of light needed (more than
needed) This mechanical laser would get very expensive for me to have
it pulse forming a continuos beam. Using white light was a little
easier, but I do know in white light you have many inferred photons, and
that is not all bad. After all a powerful infarred laser can cut metal.
What I have created in this 18 inch tube is a light build up with
mirrors(same as done in a laser. I fire a very intense light in back of
the one way mirror(semi-silvered)how I create this great flash is done
by an array of flash bulbs that go off all together. I get a great
concentrated flash, and its all down in my garage, and have a draw full of
flash cubes from the time when they were popular. I love to do stuff
with photons. Photography is my second best hobby. Thinking is
number 1,and sailing number 3 Next I'm working on a photon
beam spreader Holography kind of tickles me. Bert

Odyseuss Glad you mentioned that its not quite a laser, although it
uses all the same mirrors. Best I call my mechanical laser a "Light
Amplification Pump" or LAP Its like toy for me to play with. I made a
great improvement on the front hole mirror, and I think that would make
this patentable Have to laugh my making a better exit for photons, but
its true, and based on good science Bert
