Many times, during my practice of astrology, have I been amazed
at the sometimes funny, sometimes not so funny, 'effects' of a
stationary Mercury upon daily life. Most of the time, it involved
a misunderstanding, a break in communication, a misprint, an
incorrect information, etc.
*
When I discovered the date and time of the unintended destruction
of Paris hidden in Nostradamus' cryptic anagrams, I went to the
ephemeris to see what might be involved. At first, not much. Just
a stationary Mercury at the start of August 13, 2017. But I did
not know, then, what was causing the destruction of Paris.
*
Only after the realization that a mistake, a very stupid mistake,
was at the root of that event did I finally see that this
stationary Mercury had more to do with it than I thought. For
astrology, it occurs at 11° Virgo.
*
As to Nostradamus, his astrologically-filled quatrain VIII-49
yielded, when its four cryptic anagram had been solved, a
confirmation of the above:
*
-------------- C E N T V R I E___H V I T I E M E. ------------
------------------ (édition prétendue de 1568) ---------------
*
--------------------------- X L I X. -------------------------
--------- Satur.au beuf ioue en l'eau,Mars en fleiche, -------
--------- Six de Feurier mortalité donra, --------------------
--------- Ceux de Tardaigne à Bruge si grand breche, ---------
--------- Qu'à Ponteroso chef Barbarin mourra. ---------------
*
--------- Un Mercure allé stationnaire cause le feu ----------
--------- d'Enfer du Treize Aoust, l'An XUII, ----------------
--------- ce très beau Dimanche de si grande erreur ----------
--------- bombardant *P*...aris pour frire *P*...équin ! -----
*
For the gallically impaired, this solution reads: 'A Mercury gone
stationary causes the fire from Hell of August 13, Year XUII,
this so beautiful Sunday of a so great error bombarding P...aris
to fry P...eking.'
*
Even though the event itself is so huge, the mistake which brings
it about is so ridiculously small, an error in the alphabetical
order of two targets, that a stationary Mercury is perfect to
account for it.
