Who performed LHO's autopsy? Was the autopsy done in Dallas? Why wasn't
his body spirited off to DC for an autopsy? Considering the federal
authorities felt no compunction violating Texas state law regarding murder
victims by hustling JFK's body back to DC at gun- point, why wouldn't they
feel equally "authorized" to commandeer LHO's body?

Where did you get the idea JFK's body was taken at gunpoint? Let me
guess. You read it on somebody's website.

Back to LHO's autopsy... was there a craniotomy or not?

Oswald's autopsy was conducted in Dallas by coroner Earl Rose.

The Secret Service took custody of JFK's body because they wanted to
get the new president and the rest of the entourage out of Dallas,
where their lives could be in danger (no one knew yet if the shooting
was the work of one individual or a larger plot), and Mrs. Kennedy
refused to leave Parkland Hospital without her husband's body.
(William Manchester's DEATH OF A PRESIDENT has a detailed account of
the incident.)

When it came to Oswald's autopsy, there existed no such emergency.

Who was there at the time who said the body was taken at gunpoint?

Not quite accurate. The SS didn't care about the entourage. Their only
concern was to get the new President in the air as quickly as possible.
He might have to order a counter strike against Russia which is kinda
hard to do if he is incinerated by one of the missiles hitting Dallas.
LBJ thought immediately that the assassination was a prelude to nuclear
attack as he had been told by his military advisor is how the Russians
would do it.

And where did I get the idea. From testimony. Various participants have
also written about it.

Perhaps you can tell me what reason the Secret Service agents gave for
taking JFK's body, and then tell us how you think that applies to Lee
Oswald?

Don't you always say, "Do your own research"? ;-)

Hank gave you the link. The brain was weighed and
sectioned. The answer is "yes."

I talked to a guy at Baylor hospital which stands on the site of the now
assimilated former Town of East Dallas. This was in 1997 I think.

He said he took x-rays of Oswald as an intern at Parkland if that's what
baby radiologists are called. I thought that was interesting. I never saw
any such x-rays. I asked him if he would be interviewed but he refused.
Didn't want any attention. The more interest I poured on the less he
wanted to discuss it.

It's hard to say if people are making stuff up.

He could have been embellishing his experiences at Parkland or he could
just not want to get drawn into the morass about the assassination.

Hi Greg,

Could be either, I guess. The Parkland report on Oswald
doesn't mention any x-rays, but who knows.

No X-rays were necessary on Oswald.

It may be a simple case of confusion and he meant Connally. I once met a
guy who worked at the Harvard Coop and he said that when he was a little
kid he was in Dealey Plaza during the assassination. But he couldn't
remember anything important.

As I said before it is quite easy when they embellish their story with
an unnecessary detail which is physically impossible.

What about when he said the X-rays were instantly relayed to Washington
over the Internet?
