It is!
I reposted that message. Are you saying I shouldn't have? I hope
you're not starting with the assumption that the message is untrue or a
joke of some sort, and then concluding that we moderators should have
killed it.

We moderators take no responsibility for truthfullness of what's
posted. We have a hard enough time trying to hold flames down! You'll
have to decide for yourself what's true and what's bogus.
Sorry :-(.

see the truth when it stares us in the face. Think about it.(Although this was probably intended as a joke--and poorly executed at
that, we can take its occurrence and use it to help us think a little more
clearly about the issue at hand.)September

In this message you are willing to to discuss your policies on what can be
posted and what cannot. When I protested an insult by one of your
moderators against a poster, an insult which violated your charter, you
rejected the post, because discussions of the judgements of moderators is
off-topic. Can you explain?

Sure. We moderators will sometimes jump in to explain or clarify
moderation policy, but we won't allow long threads discussing
particular moderation decisions, particularly when the purpose is to
attack the moderators.
If we allowed such discussions, we logically would have to allow
posting of the message we rejected, so that our decision could be
discussed. And that would means that any sort of garbage could be
posted on the newsgroup under the guise of discussing moderators'
decisions.
Remember, Joe, we won't allow people to attack *you* on the moderated
group, and we won't allow people to attack moderators either.
The Nuthouse is the proper venue for attacking people.
The moderated group is the proper venue for discussing the
assassination.

You know just how to assume that "proper" tone. I'm impressed. How can
one argue with "propriety," even when it's self-serving?

Are you sure? I reckon it was the other sister, Patsy.
