Subject: Pellicano Convicted
A Federal jury has convicted former Hollywood P.I. Anthony Pellicano on 76
or 77 counts of racketeering and related crimes. Could get up to 20 years
in the slammer.  It's of peripheral interest here because Pellicano helped
George O'Toole with the "Assassination Tapes." Pellicano did a phone
interview with Wes Frasier using a voice stress analyzer to detect any
lies. Pellicano, meanwhile, lied through his teeth, used a phony name,
phony accent, claimed to be a newspaperman and misinformed Frasier of the
purpose of the interview.  O'Toole used similar tactics on occasion, so
the book did succeed in identifying two liars: Pellicano & O'Toole.

FYI, it is exactly this Voice Stress Analysis which led to the
dismantling of the first HSCA.

Pellicano also submitted a report on the acoustic evidence to the
HSCA. He agreed that the sirens sounded immediately after the shooting
and the delayed emergence of sirens on the Dictabelt shows that the
open microphone was not in Dealey Plaza during the assassination.
However, an examination of the Audiograph disk that recorded motorcade
communications reveals the absence of sirens for at least two minutes
after Chief Curry ordered his officers to go to the hospital.

Apparently, Anthony Pellicano worked both sides of the street.
