Has anyone seen the Matrix Revolutions yet?
I saw it today.
The film didn't give answers for the ending.
Was Neo really blinded and Trinity dead or was it supposed to be an
illusion?
Where did Neo go?
And the end fighting between Neo and Agent Smith was like Superman versus
General Zod in Superman 2.
If the studio wants a part 4 I think it will be a part 4 in the future.

That's one of the reasons that the reviews range from poor to scathing,
even by reviewers who liked the first (and even the bloated second) entry.

Oh dear, let's hope this is the end of it. Otherwise the Wachowskis
would lose all of their credibility as filmmakers.

but BASED ON WHAT?
1. don't the machines STILL need to breed and harvest humans to survive?
after generations of warfare, the machines are just going to pull the
plug?
2. what about all the humans "growing" in those pods? will they be set
free in "real" life? and out of the Matrix?
3. and what about the Matrix? does it still exist for HUMANS? in the
end, we have The Oracle, Seraph, Seti and the Architect at the sunset,
but no hint of any human presence ... so does that mean that the Matrix
is for programs only then?
4. what about the humans in Zion? are they going to be stuck in Zion
forever, or will they be able to build new cities, re-take the earth,
re-populate the wasteland? just WHAT are the terms of this "peace"
between humans and machines?
5. Agent Smith was a rogue program. Neo was an anomaly in the system.
and they were opposites creating an imbalance. at the end of the film,
both are removed (we don't know if neo is dead or not, but he's not in
the Matrix in any case) ... so does that mean that there is "balance"
now? and what does THAT mean?

as for answering questions,,,i think it's more that MR didn't deliver
a satisfying conclusion. there is so much speculation over
philosophies that ANSWERING quetions may well have taken the life out
of the movie, so i'm glad it didn't. i left unsatisfied, and i can't
explain why.
i thought the series was VERY entertaining but, as far as the meaning
goes,,,,i would like to hear from a moviephile, because i would not be
at all surprised if the matrix set was no more than a compilation of
different movies(certainly "dune" being one) packaged in a spiffy,
high tech + sfx kung fu wrapper. could be that there have been other
movies with the same message but boring as hell.

The "ones who want to be set free" what this means exactly is hard to say.
It may not include those who do not know where they are. There are probably
some extremists who wouldn't be satisfied with that. Thinking that all
should be set free, regardless of how they feel. Hell, as in the first
movie, there may be some who'd like to go back to the matrix.

Waaaaaaay in the background (I saw this on an IMAX screen), you can
see someone (a child? - it's blurry, and probably not meant to be seen)
running in the park. He/she runs, stops, and then moves backwards. This
continues in a loop until the scene is over.

Re-take the earth would be a little arrogant. The terms will not become
clear untill the next cartoon, video game or whatever comes down the pike
tells us what happens next.

Hell, if I know...
Some of that ending reminds me a little of Nausica, visually (hadn't
occured to me till now). Would've been funny to get end credits where we see
the city being rebuilt etc., etc...

damn! now i have to see the film again! i didn't notice this! it's not
showing in an IMAX here yet ...

they sure left the door open for another film, with the Oracle's purpose
to "unbalance the equation" and the Architect's to balance it ... but
since trinity and neo are dead (well, trinity for sure), there'll be new
characters ... i read joel silver in an interview, who said there will
NEVER be a fourth film. (also carrie-anne moss swore that she would
NEVER ever do another film with martial arts.) god i hope this is true.
the worst thing is if the W Bros. pull a George Lucas.

"father" of the matrix, then "she is the mother." and Neo says, "The
Oracle?" and the Architect says "no you idiot" or some such thing.
so just who was the Architect talking about?

I hope you're not going just for that. I'm sure it's just a technical
glitch, and not a "glitch in the Matrix". Then again maybe that's why Seti
was marked for deletion. Wasn't something like that seen in another movie?

In their defence, it's Joel Silver saying there'd never be a fourth, not
the W's (though they probably told him). Perhaps we'll see an Animatrix
series. Unlike Lucas (who I think only produced films after Star Wars, but
not directed), I imagine they want to move on and make more movies. The
Matrix seems like excellent franchise material, though. There's a number of
ways they could keep it going. Anime (hopefully they'll keep Peter Cheung
far away), TV (maybe keep Yuen Wo Ping employed) in addition to the online
game that's coming up.
