Lots of you have been wondering where to find HK movie and music posters,
lobby cards, soundtracks, t-shirts and other cool and fun stuff through
mail order. The name that is almost brought up is Dragon Art in North
Hollywood. Let me start by saying thank you VERY much to all of you who
have ordered through us before and for those of you who are patient enough
to wait for what is to come. DA is, as some postings mention, an unusual
little business. My dear friend started DA because she realized that in
LA, we have a better chance of finding items for HK films because of our
international port and large Chinese population. Through the 2 or so
years she's been running DA, she has met many wonderful people who are now
friends--whether they are the merchants in the stores and theatres she
frequents or fans of HK cinema who start out as customers. DA takes up
more time than any one person can manage and has turned into a rather
"big" little business. She realized as well, that there are people all
over the States and Canada who like this HK stuff as much as she does, and
decided to share her fortune with them by creating DA. So many eager, and
sometimes even desperate, people have responded that it suddenly became
apparent that this was not a small group of individuals here and there who
had discovered HK cinema, but many, many enthusiasts who had been forming
from all over the continent who need their fix of HK. I met this
remarkable woman last year the way most of you have, by inquiring into DA,
and perhaps because of our closeness of residence, or just the fact that
we were friends in the making, for the last year I have happily joined in
the running of DA. We are now three and although the "Blonde Fury" does
the bulk of the work, we all manage to keep the business flowing.

Many people have complained of how long it takes to get an order or an
acknowledgement of a check or money order sent, but trust me, they are
received and processed to the best of our ability. It's true, I'm sad to
say, that stock is VERY limited on dozens of items, and when the catalog
says "one copy only"--we usually mean it. Rarity is what makes a gem, in
most cases. We try to get multiple copies of anything that may sell and
often we back order from places, just to get the product to you in the
future. But keep in mind, this isn't a Tower Records store--these items
are found through perseverence, research and often plain luck. These
things, as you know, take time. So please, please be patient with us, as
we enjoy nothing more than knowing we can send a fellow HK film fan in
Polo, Illinois his copy of a "Bodyguard From Beijing" poster, or a young
girl in Dallas, Texas her new Jacky Cheung CD.

In closing, understand that we do all have other full-time jobs and
occasionally like to take the time to see the movies we sell memorabilia
for, but here is some good news: Events have transpired so that there
will be more time to be devoted to DA starting this next week and you will
undoubtedly be noticing a faster service--unless the item you want is on
backorder or waiting for arrival from another location!

Some tips for ordering from Dragon art:
1) Do send a SASE, as we can then just insert the catalog and send it
right back to you.
2) Enlose an itemized list--preferrably the one from the catalog--so we
can easily check in the order and process it.
3) Make note of availabily and list alternatives as necessary. This way
if we can't get you the exact item you want, there is no time wasted in
getting you an alternative.
4) If you are writing with just an inquiry about information, please also
send an SASE so we can quickly get you the answers you seek!
5) BE PATIENT! We really do want to get you your order but it will take
some time. We will soon be sending out confirmation notices to those of
you place orders so you will know your order has been received and is
being dealt with.

Thank you all again for your interest and support of Dragon Art and we
hope we can supply you with your wish lists for as long as HK cinema lets
us!
