I am looking for Constellations in ASCII format
Not the signs (of the zodiac) but the star formations
I did a search but only came up with star trek sites
if you could help to point me in the right direction
I will be very thankful

There is an ASCII Orion in sci.astro now,
posted by a Russian.
I think it is a good idea, even though
there are programs that display all of them.

I know that this is not one of the big twelve that you were asking for
but it is such a wonderful constellation that I can't ignore it.

Ursa Major (The Great Bear includes the big dipper)

As a child I was given a wonderful book entitled THE STARS A New Way to
See Them by H.A.Rey The lines attaching the stars in the constellations
are drawn to actually look (as much as possible) like the constellation.

In the game Myst there is a book which has 12 different constellations,
but are those must specific or the same as ours?
