I did send an email requesting this person to at least shoot me a copy
of his essay so I could post it here....so we'll see what happens.

Yes, sorry. I have, besides saving it to a file on the Internet server, to
say "please allow people outside of NYU to read file X", which I forgot to
do before posting the URL. I have since done so. However: Over tonight
(the night between 20Apr and 21Apr, New York time), the system is down,
and no pages.nyu.edu/ pages will be accessible (supposedly); so
don't bother trying until tomorrow at least. Thanks for your patience,
all, and for letting me know that the essay could not be downloaded (else
I'd never remember to allow others to see it).
