This year the Bay Area Storytelling Festival celebrates 25 years of
bringing the best storytellers in the world to the Bay Area with--
what else?-- a weekend of outdoor storytelling concerts from
extraordinary performers.

Forget the image of a kindly grandmother in a rocking chair reading a
book: instead, think of top notch entertainers on a stage able to
conjure entire worlds and transport listeners back in time using just
the power of the spoken word and a keen ability to engage the
imaginations of their audiences.

This year, Festival favorites return and listeners who come to Kennedy
Grove Regional Park near El Sobrante will get to hear wonder tales
from along the Silk Road, Appalachian ballads, spoken word from
Hawaii's premiere slam poet, stories both ancient and modern from
Jewish, African-American, and European traditions, and even fractured
fairy tales from a talking moose. Featured performers include Syd
Lieberman, Connie Regan-Blake, Kealoha, Ben Haggarty, Diane Ferlatte,
and Willy Claflin!

Family friendly: seniors, adults, teens, children age 9 and up; all
who love stories come for both days or for single events
(Sunday there will be one concert at 1:00 PM for the little folks,
ages 4-9)

$7-14 for single concerts (or $2 for the little folks concert)
$60-80 for two day passes
Tickets will be available at the Door
