James HF Thomson Artist. www.jameshfthomson.com

For over 30 years he has been inspired by the legend of True Thomas the
Rhymer, the Queen of Elfland's lover. Thomas was whisked away to Fairyland
for 7 years. The Queen handed him an enchanted apple which "bestowed on a
him, a tongue that could not lie". When he returned to Ercildoune, the
Borders village of Earlston, he possessed magical powers of prophecy .He
predicted the death of a Scottish king, the Battle of Bannockburn and the
1707 Act of Union.

Thomas the Rymer Painting
and
Pepper Wood http://www.angelfire.com/ab7/jameshfthomson/pepper_wood.htm

are just two very amazing Paintings by James HF Thomson

Pleas feel free to look and I really would like you OPINION on his work.

You are an idiot, and the OFF TOPIC nature of your postings
to a poetry newsgroup was pointed out over a week ago.

Your site is obnoxious as are your seemingly constant postings.

You are very *plonked*.

Everybody has their opinion, you are free to yours.

I am more interested in poetry, and constant "artistic" commercials
don't thrill me.

Consider what this group would be like if every marginal artist with
a free (popup generating) website posted an ad to this group every
week.. (that is what has happened to some newsgroups, mostly
anything sex related, but it isn't stopping there)..

With all the trolls here, not to mention soccer scores,
not to mention (me and you by some estimations :)

Well you decide.

This guy is plonkable (perhaps) but persistent spammers aren't,
since they forge headers, and this newsgroup would become
untenable fast.

A small remedy (not totally effective) would be to develop a charter,
and report to their ISP. Small deterrent, but it helps somewhat.
(I would volunteer in such an effort, but don't know if there is
enough consensus [clearly you don't seem to care, or maybe you
don't understand what is happening])

You must realize, this guy is simply trying to sell artwork, and
it has /nothing/ to do with poultry whatsoever.

His composition skills are a little weak in most of the paintings. Some of
his themes and techniques seem to blend Manuscript Illumination with the
escapist romanticism of the Neo-Raphaelites. Interesting, if this wasn't
quite common among the many "celtic" artists working today.

His color choices seem to be random rather than planned, all multiple
figures and multiple objects seem to compete with each other--figures are
often competing with the vegetation because of this lack. The flatness may
be part of what he is expressing, but it doesn't seem consistent. Uneven,
unbalanced flat patterns don't make remarkable paintings. The values are
quite heavy, and tend to crush his subject matter. A little of W. Homer
there in his landscape, if I'm not mistaken.

Green is obviously his favorite color. Artists can't afford to have a
favorite color.

In the more naturalistic paintings such as in /The Bridge/ he gets better
results, perhaps due more to his reporting what is there before him rather
than putting himself on the canvas--which means these would be good
illustrations for book covers but the paintings themselves don't seem to
stand alone. I like the way he abstracts his figures, this shows a little
promise, if he would only pay attention to composition he might get
somewhere with his brush.

Do not go boasting into that poor fight,
Some poets burn and rave at hints they're gay:
Chill, chill against the trollish might.

Since wise men know their sex hormones aren't light
Although their beds are lately empty they
Do not go boasting into that poor fight.

Good men, unconcerned, discern how bright
Their progeny might have been at play.
Chill, chill against the trollish might.

Wild men who leered at every skirt in flight,
And learn, too late, they drove them all away,
Do not go boasting into that poor fight.

Grave men, nearly laid, whose lovers write,
"I don't much feel like seeing you today,"
Chill, chill against the trollish might.

And you, dear fellow, on that silly height,
Abandon this ungainly pose, I pray.
Do not go posting into that poor fight.
Chill, chill against the trollish might.

Since the Breidbart Index is only 2.23, it doesn't look too
serious; I'd call it a mini-spam. However, it *is* in violation
of the charter for us.arts.poetry, which has a 3-group
crosspost limit, and runs the risk of being tagged as
'Velveeta' by the Usenet Crosspost Stopper. To avoid
these kinds of problems, Kevin, it's best to crosspost
only to the two or three most relevant groups. Peter is
correct when he says you should post this kind of material
only to 'art' newsgroups. You might want to try us.arts,
though i doubt you will get much response.

Hope this helps,

I guess because he is a moron. Anybody who posts his art spam
