Over You
Well, it's over, then.
At least the months of
insecurity are over for me.
It's over.
I tried to love you,
didn't work.
I don't think you want love,
that's your choice as you say.
You can do whatever you want as you say.
You've hurt me many times,
so we are at least even.
As you said in that downtown visit we made
"I don't owe you nothing."
You're right,
and neither do I owe you.
It was over for me in downtown,
when I was treated about
the worst anyone ever treated me.
So you're gonna bang fifteen guys you said,
I don't think so.
Maybe just you'll find your
brown eyed Springtime Boy.
Soulfull deep Eastern eyes,
Chakra and karma and beauty,
with a fully loaded wallet to boot.
I offered you my heart,
you stepped on that.
Well I cried for you
and for that I thank you,
because I thought I'd lost that,
way on down the line.
This is enough,
all that's left of me with you
is my coffee cup,
and I'll come by and pick that up,
sometime when I feel better.
