How do you give purpose to senseless tragedy? How can you fully
acknowledge another person's painful sacrifice, then laugh and learn
from it. Imagine a boy falling into a pool and drowning. Imagine his
struggle. Make it worse. Imagine his brother trying to rescue him and
drowning too. Worse. Imagine their screams as the father of the two
boys struggles to save his sons from drowning, and drowns himself.
Three tragic senseless drowning deaths. Now, imagine the pool. Think
Olympic sized or bigger and twenty feet deep. Now imagine that pool
filled with liquid shit, animal waste, manure. That's what happened
here just the other day to a local farmer and his sons. Google
Maryland manure drowning for details. Imagine that next time you think
you're in deep shit and need a little perspective on things.
