Charles Dickens wrote, "I have always thought of Christmas time,
as ... the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year,
when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts
freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were
fellow-passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures
bound on other journeys. And therefore ... though it has never put
a scrap of gold or silver in my pocket, I believe that it has done
me good, and will do me good; and I say, God bless it!"

and if you have two rocks, and find two other rocks and put them with the two

This thread is about a true historical event concerning
the real Charles Dickens, not about Jonathan Harris who
played the part of Charles Dickens in a Bonanza fantasy.
So no, Duck, Charles Dickens did not appear on Bonanza.

Do try to aspire towards some dignity, you stunted putz.

heh...

so, what's next with him, huh? lets see if we can get him to believe that Andy
Warhol was a member of the Rat Pack, what do you say? and don't worry about me
mentioning it here in the newsgroup where he can read it, he forgets everything
he reads several seconds after he's read it. i can imagine what they must do
with him when he delivers pizza: pin the address of the customer on the front of
his shirt, push him out the door, and hope someone on the street will lead him
in the right direction.

they must lose a lot of pizzas that way. but then again dockery's probably their
best delivery guy.

Doctor Smith was not an actor, you ignorant psychotic weasel,
he was a doctor of environmental psychology. Johnathan Harris
was an actor who played the psychotic weasel Doctor Smith on
Lost in Space. A bit ironic that you should mention him, eh?

Shadowian pizzas are always delivered late --
that causes them to be pre-penicillined which
helps reduce traffic down at the free clinic.

You're typing on Usenet, anonymously... you're free to be whatever your
imagination can conjure.

Willful suspension of disbelief is required for anyone to believe it...
or you could post proof for your claims.

Hey, Stuart... good to catch you online, so I'll make this quick:

Please advise your friend Jeanne Khan that we have an X-mas truce
going, and that her continuing support of the racist Dennis Hammes is
putting a strain on the show... I feel (as I'm sure you do) that it'll
be quite difficult for us to enjoy the holidays if I'm sipping eggnog
and shooting dirty pool with ya'll while alternately firing scud
missles at the Khans.

"willing suspension of disbelief", et cetera.

i was just wondering.... how do any pizzas get made at CrackerKlan Pizza? i mean
think about it, none of them know how to read, or add, ya know? don't you have
to know what setting you need to place on the pizza oven to bake the pizza? or
how to add and subtract when people pay in cash? and don't you have to pay the
rent with a check, and the electricity bills as well? christ, none of them know
how to do any of those tasks...

i think they have a northerner, or someone not from the south, who really runs
and owns the place, and this gaggle of crackers we hear about are just his
"front" so that he continue to do business in the land of trash. i would imagine
the real owner has to do it this way because he's afraid of being accused of
being a Jew, or being burned as a witch because he knows how to count.

it's the only logical explanation, really.

You've heard the "Where there's all this shit, there must be a pony"
Rule. Well, there's a Rule of Psychology (I wrote it) insisting that
everybody's moral (yes, even the Dockery, but bear with me here).
The only way Dockery is ever gonna get a pony is if the shit
produces the pony. (The same is true of Gold Stars, magnets, and
personal relationships.)

THEREFORE, according to Classical Greek Logic, the shit produces the
pony, and he simply will not look at any contrary opinion long enough
to remember it (the three stages take ten seconds, two minutes, and
ten minutes, respectively, and can be voided at any step of the process).
Because if he /does/ look at any alternative to the shit's
producing the pony, he won't get the pony. (Why, he might not even
Go To Heaven.)
And if he doesn't remember it, it never happened, since he's
perfectly capable of doing exactly the same thing to The Archives
(the book-burning in both cases is physical).

What makes him a psychopath is that the erasures take place entirely
inside his closet and nowhere else.
What makes a psychopath a psychopath is that he can erase that
observation, too.

Gary Frankfurth and Britanny are running most of the "shop stuff" you
mention, which is a normal setup for a pizzajoint of PP's size. Check
with a small time-local pizzajoint in your area and you'll find that
cook/managers do all the things needed to keep the shop going, since
you don't seem to know shit about it.

I sit around and post to Usenet and deliver stacks of pizza when the
orders come in, with a couple of local kids (Viking and Oggle) taking
in the morning-lunch deliveries.

I also created the Charles Dickens Calzone early this morning, which is
steak, peppers and onions topped with cheddar and mozerella cheese with
a "bloody mary" style maranara dipping sauce... great breakfast fare.

Thanks for the continued interest in and support for Parnello's Pizza
(706-569-7272)!

having worked a fair share of pizza places in my misbegotten college youth, i
can say for certain that all eating establishments need someone who can read,
write and count.

and that's why i ask the question, who does the work at this place?

She wishes she could suck.
But, really God -- poetry is fucked.
To call yourself a poet is ludicrous.

Where are the TV commercials for poetry /artistees/...???
The TV ADs for video games are a major revenue.
Rivals the refi morons.

Since you don't watch /it/ --- just some news.

I'm blessed with an HDR, and don't watch commercials much
but they aren't really avoidable... "Whole lot of video games."

I hope you realize that the copyright infringement associated
with recording a clearly valuable /work/ --- called "time-delayed"
is something that Sony paid millions(?) for...
The case lost once, and Sony continued.

I used to own a Betamax.

The world would be different if they gave up.

I saw a television ad for Rod McKuen once, I think.

But the new Charles Dickens Calzone is the focus of the moment, and
Poetry Night/music is set to kick off here in a couple of hours, then a
shot at the stage of the Crystal Valley Saloon, /then/ over for an
Uptown Tap performance.

Any of you doing /three/ poetry performances /tonight/ but me, let it
be known... don't me shy.

Otherwise, though... I lead the way on Usenet poetry.

triumphs of other poets, unlike the jealous do-nothings here on the

I came back to this since you later claimed your link related to "On
The Highways and Bi-Ways God Built", specifically Cythera's "...or post

Unless you're making the claim that Robert Sward /is/ "On The Highways

And I notice you still haven't made the "Will Dockery" video you

Except as absolute proof that God Built's life has "a thing to do with
poetry". Of course one has to have more than six working brain cells
and the ability to understand simple English sentences. Or one needs
the ability to construct a google search string, a suspicion on who GB

of that search.

Heh. But the "sharp stick" is a pencil.
And you can kill every vampire in the discourse just by "holding
it correctly."

N.B.: The "cross" is the quillons on a sword, the "garlic" is a lab
(it usually smells like garlic to the untrained nose).
Re vampires, both are used primarily to sharpen (define) the stick.

'Tis the Season.
I've a dumb shitty little soft aluminum replacement version of the
original Mirro spritz press, with shitty little aluminum feet that
collapsed (or were made that way) which squash the cooky to half its
height of the Good Old Days, so I haven't used it but the once.
I should fix that.

N.B.: The bowsprit on a sloop will kill a vampire if you can anchor
him in front of it. Or just tie a rope to each end, position and pull.

And unless Blue's claiming Robert Sward is this "God built" person,
wothless, as I've already pointed out.

If Twitch actually knew how to read and comprehend English it would be
less a 'private joke' and more a natural answer to the request for a
link to something that shows GB's (G, stands for god?) life has "a
thing to do with poetry." But since Bill doesn't read well, hasn't any
real intellectual curiousity, is incapable of any thoughts other than
those that reinforce his delusions, he's left mystified - again. Just
as his minion, his sycophant and the transparent fungus growing on the
underside of posts are mystified. This is why everyone thinks he's
hilarious. And that explains why he gets walked as often as he does.

"... all at another person's /expense/"? Let's hope not. Bill's bread
delivery career doesn't pay him enough to allow him to pay for
lessons. Is why he's only got that faux GED, you know. And that's
sad
you know.

Wouldn't it be easier for this "GB" person to post a poem, if it has
any?

Meanwhile Blue's doing as little "work" as possible, and when he does,
it comes out as either a chiched thud or jealous whining parody.

Obviously you're using the Hammes definition of "cool" here.

Not at all, just pointing out that the whole idea was just more
