The moral of this story is that there are two things musician-poets should
avoid at all costs: airplanes & bathtubs.

LOL...10 years ago I was doing a fibreglass job for a waterpark...the
pool manager got suspicious of a guy parked outside watching the
children frolic in the kiddy pool. When he surprised him from behind,
this cat leapt out of the mans vehicle, leaving a very embarrassed man
with shit on his still hard penis.....not having a gun, he quickly
took the mans car keys & called the police.

The moral of the story is to not engage in the fight for the final
frontier, the space between your ears, with nothing more than a song and a
lyric. Bombastic enemies are stronger.

Hello, Tom--- I read earlier that you're a pal of JAV's.

Here's the poem mentioned, by JAV, and the comments on the assumption among
the poetry newsgroups cabal that JAV was actually Tom Bishop:

Okay, but were you Jane Asher's Vagina? Many people here, including Houstman
and Barbie Catshit thought so:

<http://tinyurl.com/bdt7g>

And JAV's poetry/parody style is remarkably similar to yours:

her fish odors fascinated me
made me beautiful by contrast
and I look like a runover raccoon,

I never gave her the finger

I never asked to be my friend

we never

I never asked her

her poetry CatShitLike

Hmmm... JAV /did/ vanish right before your return, also.

A similar situation I note is now happening in the Doors newsgroup...

Sir Will, "Spectacle", yes, that's the one!! Good Gooblies, Will, these
people think that Ms. Vagina was one of theirs? rotflmao Mercenary
poets? Yes indeed we have the Tom is Vagina Group, Dockery is Vagina
Group, Someone named Fab is Vagina Group; many of these very same people
"could care less about JAV" like Knebel, Nothing, Mizz Scarlett and the
troll-thug Alan Graham, JDM's BIL. It's astonishing to see the number of
posts that posters post while caring so very little :)). FYI, Ms. Vagina
(btw now known as The Loverly Vagina) has set sail for England, I think, I
never know for sure but I found her "w" handle on rec.travel.cruises.
Stenographics is a new science to me.

Will, I have never met her but the archives show that you have or were to.
This is highly unusual, very out-of-character, there had to be reason.
Can you engage?

No: the theory is that it makes no difference whether or not we
distinguish between this foaming moron or that simpering worm bait, as
long as we know which one is asking for it and which one is begging for
it. Do you actually think that it is important whether or not the
moronically-handled JAV is in fact the moronically-lame Tom? Tom's a
skulking collop of pustrescent veal, JAV's a wriggling infested skank
hole, and you're the puppy they both caught in their stinknest when you
wandered off the road into the first rest home that allowed mangy dogs.

Yes, Knebel is bouncing all over the place, half-day ago Emily Post was the
Vagina according to him. Knebel is a stunted version of the one man
kabal, Will, he is man scorned and turned away by TLV, she teased him and
he pricked right up. Ask V, Knebel has his own relatives in the cahoots
and I think he doesn't know it. She does.

Will, you aren't interested in my understanding of poetry, and

Actually, I'm very interested. In fact, I've used what I learned from
you by studying the rewrite process you went through on "Skirt Of
Printed Sunflowers" with "Pastel Hollarings" for the newly rewritten
poem "Pastel Mythology", which just went into print yesterday in PGMag
<http://www.playgroundsmag.com> the local "arts" monthly here in
Shadowville. The first of my new poems I consider /ready/.

In addition, I learned from your poem "Spring", through the exchange
between you and Dale Houstman recently, where he took /that/ poem and
rewrote it as "Milk Cannisters" or somesuch. That, and his masterful
"Her Lark Colony" has been useful to study in working with the poem
"Scorpioman In Trashcanland", which I hope to have ready by the August
issue.

This stuff will be /reflected/ here, eventually, but /real life/ and my
/real aufdience/, the People of Shadowville, come first, of course.

BC and Boss I can almost always ignore, JRS I like to spar with, and
there's too much left to learn from Uncle Dennis and Cousin Dale... you
can always have a look from time to time when you're slumming in
Google, and give me a shout out if the need arises... stuff 'em Tom.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder
American Description
Diagnostic Criteria

A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for
admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and
present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of
the following:

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates
achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without
commensurate achievements)
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power,
brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be
understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status
people (or institutions)
4. requires excessive admiration
5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of
especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her
expectations
6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others
to achieve his or her own ends
7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the
feelings and needs of others
8. is often envious of others or believes that others are envious
of him or her
9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Did you write this yourself, or did you borrow it? If you /did/ borrow it,
you should give a credit and/or a link, y'know... if you /did/ write it,
though... pretty good!

> A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior),

Yeah, that's my style, in art and life. I like things done on a grand,
sweeping scale, and admire others with these leanings. That's why guys like
you that don't seem to do much of anything bore me, at best. This is the
best thing you've done since I first encountered you, Gamble... too bad you
probably didn't even write it.

> need for admiration,

I can't say I have a particular /need/ for admiration, though, no more than
any other human, at least. I do have a /need/ to create my work, and never
work in a vacume... I don't feel a poem, or any other work of art is
/complete/ until it's put out into public for an audience. Obviously, if I
had a /need/ for "admiration", I'd have blown this scene long ago for some
group of back patter type. I enjoy a good fight, and more often than not
your gang provides this... in spades.

> and lack of empathy,

Can't agree with this one, much... I'm quite the empath, as reflected in
many of my songs and poems.

> beginning by early adulthood and
> present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of
> the following:
>
> 1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates
> achievements and talents,

I'm confident in my powers as an artist, and certainly the creation of these
works thrills me to no end, and, yeah, I've been known to work my own
publicity campaigns and can play the Funky Flashman when the need arises,
something I picked up at least as early as my childhood readings of Marvel
Comix, as well as movie and rock music advertisments, interviews, et cetera.
That's me, and I'll easily go with this one.

> expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate
> achievements)

Here, it flows away from being an accurate description of "Will Dockery", as
my achievements are legion in art music and poetry, as well as comedy,
performance art, and many other areas... and the fact is that I /am/
superior to the gaggle of jeering, do-nothing, no talent hecklers on the
poetry newsgroups, many of which don't even /write poetry/.

I've got the goods... sorry if that hurts your collective feelings.

> 2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power,
> brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

None of these apply to me... I work a simple job for some cash to live on,
not that interested in "power", as I've got enough to get what I need done,
"I held beauty on my knee and found her bitter", thus love is not
particularly interesting to me, these days... which has influenced the newer
poetry in a positive direction: less soap-opera-confessional-navel-gazing
work in the upcoming works in progress.

> 3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique

Heh! Well that's the facts, Jack! My art /is/ completely original, as the
arguments with my groupie on this very thread yesterday made clear. I'm the
best at what I /do/, which is being "Will Dockery", and every move I make is
performance art... got a problem with that? Well that ain't /my/ problem.

> and can only be
> understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status
> people (or institutions)

This is not me, as anyone that knows me either here on Usenet /or/ real life
can easily see. As JRS is so fond of pointing out endlessly: I'm a man of
very simple tastes, and like it that way.

> 4. requires excessive admiration

I can't say I have a particular /need/ for admiration, though, no more than
any other human, at least. I do have a /need/ to create my work, and never
work in a vacume... I don't feel a poem, or any other work of art is
/complete/ until it's put out into public for an audience. Obviously, if I

your gang provides this... in spades.

> 5. has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of
> especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her
> expectations

Not at all. I do what I do, and the audience can take it or leave it... the
bottom line is that I create the art for /myself/ first, and if /I/ like it,
out it goes... to the public.

I make the art that works, and will continue to until I drop.

> 6. is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others
> to achieve his or her own ends

I'm a "people person", and it takes people sometimes to make certain things
/happen/... but I don't "exploit" anything except talent, from which
everyone wins in the end. For example, collaborating with musicians, et
cetera.

> 7. lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the
> feelings and needs of others

Can't agree with this one, much... I'm quite the empath, as reflected in
many of my songs and poems.

> 8. is often envious of others

Never. I'm content with my work and encourage everyone to create. In fact
I'm often disgusted with the agenda of others on the poetry newsgroups to
try to drive away newcomers, and to stifle the creativity of the other
poets, notably in my case, for example.

> or believes that others are envious of him or her

Heh. Have to admit that I /do/ see a bit of /that/ from time-to-time... it
could even be speculated that this very post by Gary Gamble is an example of
that, since he's a burned out gasfly that hasn't actually written, or at
least /posted/ a poem in these parts in a very long time. In fact, as I
wrote earlier, this post [which he may not have even written] is the most
I've /ever/ seen the boy do.

> 9. shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Arrogant, Hell yes. Haughty? Never in my life.

Good show, Gamble... got more? How about an actual poem now?

And in the end I say: "Let the kids have their fun", Tom.

Perhaps someday my newsgroups can get back to discussion and writing of
poetry and yours can get back to the discussion of Jim Morrison, which,
come to think of it, is /also/ the discussion of poetry, JDM being one
of the ultimate Poets of the People.

Can't stop them, Will, as The Loverly Vagina says "fucken kiddies must have
their funsies", it's what defines them as infantile :0)

Jim was Best among the Best, Will, and I have to give you a "Thanks" since
you brought V to amt-d and I followed. Jim was a poet before anything but
I see that the archives reflect that many of your newsgroupers disagree.
Not hard to imagine that since wannabee poets have a diversion to real ones
:)

I do have to say that Spectacle is not exactly JDM quality but the source
material was shite to begin with :). Will, have you met the Vagina in
person and did you see the devastation in Henry County?

Will - Do you have a favorite Jim Morrison poem? I've always been
drawn to 'As I Look Back.' It very nearly brings tears to my eyes and
a pall over my being. Jim sounds at his most vulnerable.

If I had to pick a favorite, it'd probably be some of the stuff from
American Prayer, which i haven't heard in years but still rattles with
power:

----
AWAKE

Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach in a cool jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it's quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.
Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake
Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.

Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind.

DAWN'S HIGHWAY

Me and my -ah- mother and father - and a
grandmother and a grandfather - were driving through
the desert, at dawn, and a truck load of Indian
workers had either hit another car, or just - I don't
know what happened - but there were Indians scattered
all over the highway, bleeding to death.

So the car pulls up and stops. That was the first time
I tasted fear. I musta' been about four - like a child is
like a flower, his head is just floating in the
breeze, man.
The reaction I get now thinking about it, looking
back - is that the souls of the ghosts of those dead
Indians...maybe one or two of 'em...were just
running around freaking out, and just leaped into my
soul. And they're still in there.

DAWN'S HIGHWAY & NEWBORN AWAKENING

DAWN'S HIGHWAY

Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding
Ghosts crowd the young child's fragile eggshell mind.

Blood in the streets in the town of New Haven
Blood stains the roofs and the palm trees of Venice
Blood in my love in the terrible summer
Bloody red sun of Phantastic L.A.

Blood screams her brain as they chop off her fingers
Blood will be born in the birth if a nation
Blood is the rose of mysterious union
Blood on the rise, it's following me.

Indian, Indian what did you die for?
Indian says, nothing at all.

-Jim Morrison
----

The one about "tight lipped little losers", is hilarious, JDM covers all the
bases...

shouldn't an artist aspire to be better with each new project. the shit you
produce now isn't ANY different than the shit you produced seven years ago.

but dockery, my work, while certainly not great, has been praised a number of
times.

has anyone praised your work? ever? in your whole life?

has anyone with an IQ higher than 70 ever praised your work? has anyone who has
ever produced a yearly, bound, not website based, collection of poetry ever
asked you to submit a poem for publication?

ever?

i've done this several times. my work sits on lovely wooden bookshelves in
several large cities.

your work is reposted, by ONLY you, a thousand times over in usenet.

i wonder why that is?

This from the little man who hasn't post a poem on the poetry newsgroups in
/years/.

But in your case I don't think it can be blamed on laziness.... it's more
like you're ashamed of the quality of your poetry and afraid of the scrutiny
posting it here would bring.

you contradict yourself (again), dockery-stupid. just yesterday you claimed that

now you say i have posted a poem in the newsgroup for years. which is it?

but i posted a poem here just recently. you even claim that you've read it.

are you lying about that?

It is when you're cross-posting it to every fucking newsgroup on
usenet. When are you going to get it that no one gives a shit about
your insane ramblings, Dockery? Pick a newsgroup and inflict yourself
on it exclusively. Leave the rest of us to hate your guts in peace,
from a great, great distance.

I Googled for that, apparently The Loverly Jane Asher's Vagina has Ms.
Buttler, er, Butler and her having a conversation where Ms. Butler so
claims. Not only that, but she shared heroin (needles anyway) with Pamela
Courson. How old would that make Butler, 55?

If I was a salami headed for Ms. Butler's *Not* So Loverly Vagina, I'd be

but i haven't stopped writing at all. i told you, you incredibly stupid cracker,
i create every day. you wish you could say the same thing, and you can't.

just because you can't find it or see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

please don't tell me that you're shocked to discover that there isn't a person
on this earth that feels your opinion is worth listening to? that's pretty sad.

anyway, why not answer my question, why was it so important for you to lie about
having read my poem when you hadn't read it at all? what kind of pathetic needs
compels someone to lie about something like that?

what a sad, little man you are.
