* So what's new?
Inasmuch as vitually everything the Government does hits me in the
pocket, I LIKE it that way.
For the record, I voted mostly Libertarian.

In Usenet, I've never a hanker
For other than text, so with rancor
I'm kicking my foot
At McWilliam, who put
The 'w' into the anchor.

Our flames won't be minimized soon
For Jim has untidily strewn
His trash in this space.
He's named when you place
An 'r' in the middle of moon.

I've no clue about McGuire.
The Google Groups archive is a de facto graveyard for Limericks. AJL
contributions date back to 1995 (over 20,000 topics, many which are long
threads with multiple Limericks) and AAL contributions to 1999 (nearly 5000
topics). It's quite easy to find things using Google's outstanding search
engine. If you would have used that search engine, you would have seen that
I posted Alkahuna's astronaut Limerick from OEDILF in AJL (along with a
number of my own) just last month (Tiddy, Hugh and John kicked in some good
ones too):

Google's Group Advanced Search page offers lots of
options for searching old posts. One can search simply
the limerick groups:
Or, options are available to search any combination of
key words/terms & dates at:
http://groups.google.com/advanced_search?hl=en
But, all kidding of Master James aside, his total collection
of limericks prolly exceeds those of Tony Davie (Ærchie
has them preserved on his site), and he has even
tried to find ways to catalog them in databases. Likely
not totally successful, admittedly, but he keeps trying.
And, his suggestions about how to better utilize the site
make sense to me. Still, it's still Azul's baby, and his
proposals seem to violate her original charter. That being
so, I am forced to include a lim here to stay within those
guidelines.
At risk that I cover with soot
A hero, forthwith I will put
The suggestion that Holmes
Was in fetishist tomes,
Since he shouted, "The game is afoot!"

Your fetish suggestion I've bought, son,
But NOT Jimmy's prose-ridden rot, son!
It wouldn't be cool
If, like Sherlock, Azul
Would quip, "Cut out the poetry, Watson."
To see the Holmes quote above in context, reference "The Adventure of the
Retired Colourman":
