For the first time in many years I find myself very much >between<
things and with out many responsibilities and thought it was an ideal time
to seek and artist residency. Both for the exposure to a beautiful place
and/or for the experience of the community of other artists. For many
years I lived in an isolated rural town in a mountain valley above the
Sonoran Desert. Now I'm in NYC, and enjoying it, but missing terribly my
connection with the land. I'm a painter, I work in egg tempera and paint
from landscape.
I'd much appreciate to hear about other peoples experiences with
residency programs, especially any in the west.
thanks much-

You might give Roswell Museum and Art Center a call. They have
a residency program that provides living accomodations and a small
monthly stipend. (505) 624-6744 Roswell, NMex.

You might look into the residency program at the Sitka Center for Art and
Ecology on the Oregon coast. They have a beautiful facility with,I
believe, 4-6 residency programs a year.
