James Peter Cost is listed in Samuels' Contemporary Western Artists,
Bowker's Who's Who in American Art, Cattell's Who's Who in American Art and
Marquis' Who's Who in American Art. Cost won the Franklin Mint Gold Medal
for Distinguished Seascapes in 1975. He has works in the permanent
collections of RW Norton Museum, Shreveport, MA, and the Monterey Museum of
Art, Monterey, CA, and the Readers Digest Collection. This painting was
appraised by Edward N. Okil, National Institute of Appraisers, Los Angeles,
in July, 2000, at a fair market value of $16,000.
