Jan Svankmajer: Alchemist of the Surreal

This is to announce the opening of a brand new Web gallery that
showcases the work of the great Czech surrealist artist and film-maker
Jan Svankmajer.

Although in the West he's best-known for his bizarre, uniquely original
and wildly imaginative films ('Alice', 'Faust', 'Conspirators of
Pleasure'), he's also a hugely prolific artist who has worked in a wide
variety of media: drawings, collages, etchings, sculptures, ceramics,
puppets and his trademark "tactile experiments".

Anyone interested in his work, or animation, or Surrealism, or who
simply wants to sample some of the most memorable images and ideas on
