Has anyone used these so called water based oil paints? If you have
I'd like to hear what your experience was like with them. I paint in
oils, but I find myself increasingly allergic to traditional solvents.
(turpentine or mineral spirits.) I like the idea of an oil paint that
I can wash up with water, but--

1. Is the colour as rich as that obtained with regular oils?
2. Are there particular techniques that cannot be obtained with
these? (Like glazing for example?)
3. Are they easy to clean with water, or is it a pain in the @$$.

Any other info or tips you can give me is much appreciated.
Please email me as I don't get to this group very often.

TIA

Paul

I use them and they are very good. There are also mediums and oils that are
water miscible to go with them. The only problem I have run into is that if you
use too much water to mix and thin the colors (you are not supposed to) some
mixed colors will separate. Also, they do not offer a permanent green pigment
yet. Otherwise, I think they are great.
