Anyone know the artist's name?

this is going to be tricky, but from the following description, can
anyone tell me the name of the artist and maybe even throw a few links
thisaway?

a surrealist painter, large canvases, very perspectivey, organic and
spindly.

begins with x or w or k, as i believe he was russian or polish or
something.

i'm sitting here searching through google and yahoo and goodness knows
what else just looking for an a to z of surrealist painters' names,
just to see if i could spot it...if i look at another wassily
kandinsky....

i'll put a quick sketch on the web somewhere, give you a better chance
of spotting the artist.
