Art-Tech (Silicon Valley Institute for Art & Technology) is an
independent 501c3 non-profit organization which has represented
leading digital artists, and sponsored new media exhibitions,
symposiums, workshops, high profile special events and receptions,
including collaborations with universities, museums, performing arts
institutions and Silicon Valley corporations since 1993. We plan to
launch a new venture to conduct direct online and offline sales of
digital/new media art.
We are looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial individual – someone
who has a passion for the art field - eager to learn and grow with us
as ART SALES COORDINATOR, working with our team in the hand's-on,
day-to-day coordination and implementation of the sales operation.
The person we seek will ideally share our vision in the future growth
potential for art & technology, will be a self-motivated team player
with exceptional organizational and communication skills. Strong
computer literacy in a PC/Web environment is a must (MS Office, WORD,
Excel, Access preferred). Familiarity with Internet/Web tools, HTML,
database, Web design/programming desirable. Prior Sales experience,
especially in a high-tech environment or in online sales, a definite
plus !
Specific tasks for this position include:
· compile PC database of artists and inventory
· physical management of artworks inventory
· conduct online sales auctions including postings, emails, shipping
· maintain communications with mgt team, artists, third parties etc.
You should reside locally and have your own transportation. Full-time
Hours can be split on a flexible schedule between work-at-home and at
the AT site in San Jose.
We are a startup - and this is a bootstrapping, ground-floor
opportunity ! This means that you will earn your $ on a commission
basis from the sales of our artists' work. As our sales increase, so
will your income - without limit. And, down the road when our new
venture is well established, is the prospect of a permanent staff
position.
And - if you are a student now or plan to be in future, we can secure
college credits for the work you do for Art-Tech, through our
affiliation with West Valley College and other colleges.
