Hello,
Please forgive me if I make a mistake and post "spam". Believe me, I only
wish for interested parties to receive my post. I do read each charter
but sometimes I make a mistake. Please keep in mind, this post is not
directly intended to sell you anything, only to tell you about our
gallery.
I have outlined this post like a FAQ. This allows me to offer you as much
information as I can about our art gallery and allows you to read (or not
read) what you wish.

*********************
Who we are.

The Artesian Well - http://208.204.14.91/ or http://artwell.home.ml.org
We are a small "not-for-profit" virtual gallery run by and for artists. I
started "The Well" over a year ago to give new artists (who's talents
outreach their notoriety and income) a place to display their artwork. It
is free to be a member artist and every voice has a place here. Since I
started the gallery, I have been lucky enough to gain some quality help.
We currently have a total "viewership" of around 4000 a month. Our tiny
"cyber-community" is flourishing (much to my personal delight) and the
gallery has begun to take on a persona of it's own.

*********************
Who "I" am.

Simple answer: I am a fine artist, educated at Tyler University in
Philadelphia, PA.
Currently, I am working on a series in oil called "Intimacy" which will
be completed around August of this year.

Melodramatic answer: I am an individual who's passion for her life and
work (if physically manifested itself as fire) would burn so hot that it
would, in one burst, engulf the world and the contents therein.
Obviously, I must take great care to prevent this from occurring. ;-)

***********************
What we offer you at "The Well".

Artwork: First and foremost, you can view the hundred or so original
artworks housed in the gallery. The gallery is set up for easy viewing of
artwork. We also have a "hot art" page so repeat visitors can see some of
the new works added each month.

Search: You can search the site for individual artists works. If you
find an artist you like, instead of going through the whole gallery,
simply type their name in at the search. We are currently updating the
database so soon you will be able to search for things like "abstract art"
or "still life" as well as title and artist information.

Profiles: Each artist has a space for their profile. This is any
information about their artistic goals, talents, inspirations as well as
information about individual artwork.

Message Board: Got a burning question or comment about...the arts?
...your own creative processes? ...know of another fine art venue? This
is where to post it! This is a spanking new feature at The Well which
remains consistent with our goal i.e., to be a resource of art
information, networking etc.

Chat: This another brand new feature at the well. You can browse the
gallery and the "net" while chatting. Today, the chat is a little empty,
but like most things it will take time. We are working on linking to
other similiar chats and adding a program to allow you to view how many
people are in the chat room when you arrive.

Cards: We offer cards of select gallery work. We don't take donations,
so if you would like to help us with our operating costs, please purchase
some of our cards.

Newsletter: We have a newsletter to update artists of changes, additions,
promotional opportunities and so on.

******************************
That's about it.
Oh yeah, if you are a fine artist and wish to join us, we have an online
application at: http://208.204.14.91/arthelp.htm

Thank you for reading this "rather lengthy" post.
I hope that you will come and visit us at The Well.

Sincerely Yours,
Dorothy M. Danforth
