there are reasons for that attitude. reasons some share as a consideration.
PGD has something like 40K+ posts around windows "support" groups going
back some 6 years+. no doubt there are others, from earlier times, even further
back.
i have located his rogers.com posts of that nature. true, the posts are pretty lame
being the work of an amateur "google diver" with a little "hands on" knowledge
from experience likely gained at carleton, and in the local computer shop serving
"ma and pa" type waltons things." but they are helpful to some.
i am not naming the posting ID he uses (yet) for much the same reasons i believe
Wolfie will not hear any pleas from ES subscribers.
another reason is that PGD is .000005% of ES subscription figures, so it is Wolfie
_knows_ PGD will go absolutely ballistic should his account be yanked. those here
who witnessed "Greg Hall's" performance would understand Wolfie does not need
that grief, again...and PGD's shitstorm would make squeaky's performance seem like
a cessna flying into a water tank compared to the jihad PGD is capable of with some
hours of obsession. just look at the line counts for the spews he has posted in the
last 12 hours he has been on ignore!! I would offer Wolfie would shut ES down before
he tolerated that game, he hasn't the time to go fsk'ng with code as fast as PGD thinks
up a new attack. and Steve Crook (afaik) is only available for cleenfeed assistance.
a third reason is "why?".
what good does it do anybody to have a poster booted to the curb?
there will be another one pop, one day. the solution for these manic types is to
restrict them, they will then move on, likely *pay* for the privilege of trolling.
it is only a lousy $72 a year after all.
it is far better to screw down the exploits these free servers have, and i know plenty
of them, believe..heh...part of PGD's "game" is to watch what others do and copy it.
so remove the exploits, and all win, yes?

in all that i have read there is no post, no comment in a post, that could be construed
as "murphy" netkkkoping anyone in the meaning of that usenet term. sure I have
read him recommending changes few would agree with but "yo ass is grass I am
talking to your NSP to get your account pulled"..??..find a MID and post it.
there is no doubt "murphy" is a flamer, in ALL the ID's I have found him using, it IS a
consistent attribute of his work. I have also however tracked him to places nobody
(yet) has obviously thought of looking (or lacks the skills) only to find posts that helped
ME a lot. information in "how to" that either i would never have thought of or would be
hard pushed to find in web sites today. "murphy" was not what PGD believes.
as just one pertinent example?
i found the thread where "seamus mcrae" wandered into a/f/newsservers with his broken
news client (T-bird), i have searched the XNA posts to find an incredible anomaly in
the story PGD is putting about. following the timelines in REF it is very clear Wolfie, along with
several "regulars", had given PGD the boot on his failure to do any work. on my best recall
PGD even told the group there should be a "fix it now" button on the interface somewhere, linked to
the server (Motzerella)!!
it was _after_ that episode that "murphy" waded in. and did he wade in! ripping PGD a new
asshole in quicktime.
"murphy" is here, somewhere, i am sure of it...so PGD has a right to be paranoid, in
my opinion.
i guess all PGD has to do is change his act and behave. as little likelihood there is of that
without everyone doing a lot of work i would say the only option is to can his socks AND
remain alert to new names turning up. the move to using remail outfits is freshmeat for PGD so it
is unlikely he can use socks4 or telnet through open boxes, add to that there is only two servers
(now) he can pump his shit through, and both of those wont be around forever.
usenet is timeless, it just takes time ;)
