CD/DVD drive not seen
Well folks, I've done some searching variously, chatted on the appropriate forum but cannot fathom the problem... And it applies to both Win PCs I have, both running Win 7 Pro SP-1. (Different processors though). This applies to both computers, so for example there is Nero on one machine and Ashampoo Burning on the other, but all listed below together...... more »

Sky TV
Anyone any experience with cancelling Sky? Daughter got a Sky deal in December when she moved with partner and got a Sky deal with movies etcetera primarily for him. Didn't work out and she really can't afford the package - for which, incidentally, she's signed nothing. I am thinking just disconnect it and cancel the payment mandate and invite... more »

Belnia monitor and set-top box
I have a Belnea or Belinea (depending o your eyesight/available character set) 1925 wide-screen monitor with SVGA/subD type input and a (French) STB with a SCART output. What sort of lead would I need, if it's possible, to display the output? Yes, SCART to VGA, but which one might work?... more »

Satellite TV
The TV reception in my new home is crap and I'm guessing that at the very least I need a new aerial as the existing one is almost certainly pre-digital. There is a satellite dish on the house with two cables running inside, terminated by screw-on coax connectors. I've never used satellite so I... more »

.docx query
I use Open Office for Windows to read MSOffice files of type .docx and .xlsx. Windows XP Pro. While .xlsx files load automatically into Open Office when double clicked, the much commoner .docx files do not. Double clicking gives an error 'filename.docx is not a valid Win32 application'. Exactly the same happens if I... more »

MS Security Essentials
Though I've spent some time trawling he net, I can't seem to find any useful answer to the problem I'm having, so I thought maybe ask here where there are some intelligent folks hanging. Just had to replace the MOBO on my main PC, no problem all done and dusted. As part of the process, I bought and did a new clean install of Win 7 Pro... more »

Android Mail Client
Can anyone please point me at an Android (Tablet) Mail Client app they are using successfully. I've tried a couple so far, but after Pluto, everything I've tried seems to be inadequate. Thanks Dave -- Dave Triffid

NetSurf, Javascript and Blogger
In message <5310fc1de0...@invalid.org.uk> ... ... Hi Tim, I'd discovered this feature - by accident - and I can identify text and 'copy' it. However 'paste' doesn't work inside Blogspot. What is curious, and irritating, is that whilst there is, above the workspace, the usual row of buttons including one for importing... more »

Audio question
Does anyone have any experience of the Selwyn Audio Cocktail X10? [link] It looks as though it might fill a specific need of mine but it's not entirely clear from the specs. I won't bother going into the full details of what I'm after just yet unless someone is familiar with the unit.... more »

However I use my Nexus tablet to connect to the system wirelessly. I have lost the password I used when setting up the Tenda. Is there any way I can get at my password.... more »
