SS}- Glad you got your problem sorted out. I'm sure my has something
SS}- to do with the phone companys equipment, and the modem. I'm going
SS}- to see if I can get the two numbers I have a problem with changed.

Changing the phone number probably won't help, if it is really a line
problem. If you have some lines that are ok and others that have a
problem, you need to first eliminate the possibility a problems inside
your house. (Or the phone company is going to try to charge you for a
service call.)
The best course of action is to check the lines with a meter going to a
quiet port. (Know anyone that works for a phone company?) If that isn't
available, try just listening with a single line phone. Any static? If so,
then go to the terminal block where the lines come in and check there. If
you hear static at that point, it is a phone company problem. When you
report it, report "intermitent" static or they tend to listen once, rather
quickly, and then pass the buck (and the bill) to you.
