Does anyone here make selfbows?
I do it mainly for exercise.
But I would love to talk here
about the ways it can be done.
For me, the simpler the better.

***I don't make them yet.... I have been doing research and I want to
make youth self bows.... I bought on ebay a vintage hickory self bow,
no arrow rest and a darker wood hand rest/grip. It was 48" long with
about a 20 lb pull. This is want I want to start making for cub scouts/
boy scouts.... I will take any any advise given. Thanks for posting.

A lot would depend on what kind of wood
you wanna use, either stave or board.

Cf. http://www.primitivearcher.com/smf/index.php/topic,12345.0.html

I make flat self bows out of white woods I have at home;
chestnut oak, red oak, birch, and maple.
A couple of dozen started, several shootable, none finished.
I'm about to make English Long Bow style bows
by self backing with Perry reflex.

If you are getting serious,
the following four volume book is highly recommended.

"The Traditional Bowyer's Bible" Volume 1-4 (1992-2008)
