Normally I don't hawk any artist on this group, but some of you might be
interested. A gentleman by the name of Lee Teter once worked at a crafts and
antiques store in Garrett County, Maryland where my Mom and sister used to
work. I loved his work, especially one called "The Moonshiner". He now does
mostly oil paintings of the frontier and his works can be seen at
www.leeteter.com

He was kind to my family when he was first starting out and now he is very
successful. Some of you may be interested in his works and may also even
have some of them. I am always inspired and think of home when I see some of
his works. Especially his older stuff from the 1980's. He did a lot of
eastern Indian and eastern wilderness black and white works. They are my
favorite.

I have one called "Treading On Thin Ice" which is a color work from that
time. I think of the Garrett County Appalachian Mountains whenever I see it.
Though it may not be that area, in my mind's eye, it is. If you visit his
site, hope you enjoy. By the way, I am not making money from this, I am just
passing on the info.

++ The man is an artist. I loved looking at his work. It is a bit
too pricey for me, but for those who can afford it.........

Thanks. An excellent artist... and from the site, this:

"Our generation must learn valuable things from history. Not names and dates
and places associated with an event that supposedly changed the world but
about people who changed the world without anyone ever noticing. That is why
I paint pictures like this one.

If I painted pictures of roses I would paint the thorns. Those who see good
things in spite of bad things will understand my art. Those who love in
spite of bad things will change the world.

Thanks again for an excellent site. I understand what you mean about 'in
my mind's eye, it is'... I have three signed painting of
Russell May and these and your post reminded me of them... I had to go check
them out again...after reading this. Thanks again
for the wonderful site.

Thanks. Hadn't heard of him before. Nice work. The link below shows an
appropriate picture for Memorial Day.

You and all the rest are most welcome.
Very few things affect me in this way and I believe there is a real kindred
spirit expressed in his work. I feel the mountains when I see his work.

Mom got that print for my brother that was in Vietnam and returned to us
safely. It does touch the soul.

Yeah, they are a bit up there. I have some of his older stuff, but none of
the new ones. Might have to save for a while for one though. I wasn't aware
he had moved to oils. My stuff is black and white and some water color. My
father liked him and said he was just a regular guy. I would say, a regular
guy with a gift to touch the soul. But then that was what my father was too.
